According to data from Canalys, global smartphone shipments saw a 27% year-on-year growth in the first quarter of 2021. The data agency says global shipments reached 347 million units in Q1, with Samsung selling 76.5 million units, retaining its 22% market share from last year. Apple came in second with 52.4 million iPhones sold, while Xiaomi took the third spot with 49 million sales and a market share of 14%.

Report: PC market shipments break 10-year record

A total of 79.2 million PCs were shipped in the third quarter, up 12.7 per cent year-over-year, showing the fastest growth in a decade, technology research company Canalys said in a report.
Taiwan-based Acer was the biggest individual beneficiary from the trend, shipping 5.6 million PCs and up 15 per cent, according to estimates which also include Chromebooks.
Lenovo was the top vendor in terms of shipments, and was followed by HP, Dell and Apple respectively.
