'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' to re-release in theatres on Jan 3

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone starrer "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" is set to re-release in theatres on January 3, 2025.
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film was produced under Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and also featured Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Koechlin. The film had its original release on May 31, 2013.
According to a press release, "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani", which went on to have a great box office in 2013, will be released on January 3 across 140 PVR INOX Cinemas in 46 cities.
Johar said "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" is a perfect film to start the new year. &ldquo;'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' holds a special place in the heart of Dharma Productions. The film has great music, stunning locations, some of our most loved actors, and a story that resonates across all generations. The film leaves you with a warm, fuzzy feeling about life. We can't wait to see how Gen Z feels about watching it as adults on the big screen while millennials join in, singing along and repeating all the dialogues before the actors do," he said in a statement.
Mukerji said the film is like a second child for him.
"More than a decade later, I can confidently say that creating it was one of the greatest joys of my life. What we accomplished, despite its perfections and imperfections, remains a source of immense and lasting pride for me," he added.
"Ayan Mukerji's masterful storytelling sets the perfect tone, making it a timeless repeat watch, with emotions that transcend all barriers. We are thrilled to bring this film back to the big screen and eagerly anticipate the audience's reaction," said Niharika Bijli, Lead Strategist, at PVR INOX Ltd.
The romantic comedy follows the stories of four friends, Bunny (Kapoor), Naina (Padukone), Avi (Kapur) and Aditi (Koechlin) as they go through the various adventures life has in store for them. The film was also praised for its songs such as "Badtameez Dil", "Ghagra", "Kabira", "Dilliwaali Girlfriend" and "Subhanallah".

According to the complaint, the kidnappers held Khan captive in the Chahsheeri locality of Bijnor and during this time Rs 2 lakh were transferred from his mobile.

Actor Mushtaq Khan, best known for his roles in films like "Welcome" and "Stree 2" was allegedly kidnapped under the pretext of being invited to an event in Meerut, police said on Wednesday. The actor managed to escape after being held captive for a day.
A complaint regarding the incident was filed by the actor's event manager, Shivam Yadav, at the Bijnor Kotwali police station on Tuesday, Bijnor Superintendent of Police Abhishek Kumar Jha said.
According to the complaint, one Rahul Saini contacted Khan on October 15 inviting him to be the chief guest at an event in Meerut and even paid him in advance. Saini also sent Khan a flight ticket for November 20, from Mumbai to Delhi.
Upon arriving at the Delhi airport, Khan was picked up by a car with a driver and two passengers. However, midway through the journey, he was transferred to a Scorpio vehicle, where two additional men joined, Yadav said in the complaint. When Khan protested, he was threatened and informed that he had been kidnapped.
According to the complaint, the kidnappers held Khan captive in the Chahsheeri locality of Bijnor and during this time Rs 2 lakh were transferred from his mobile.
On November 21, Khan managed to escape and made his way back to Mumbai.
The kidnappers made several purchases in Meerut and Muzaffarnagar and withdrew cash, amounting to approximately Rs 2 lakh, using Khan's phone, police said.
The Bijnor Police have registered a case against unidentified individuals under Section 364A (kidnapping for ransom) of the Bhartiya Nayaya Sanhita and formed multiple teams to locate the kidnappers and trace the Scorpio vehicle involved. The full details of the incident will be revealed soon, police added.

Production houses Yash Raj Films (YRF) and Posham Pa Pictures on Tuesday announced a creative partnership under which they will produce theatrical films starting next year.
YRF, one of the top banners of the country, has backed several diverse films including Kabhi Kabhie, Deewar, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Veer-Zaara, Ek Tha Tiger, and the Dhoom 3 franchise. Posham Pa Pictures has garnered acclaim for Kaala Paani, Mamla Legal Hai, Home Shanti and "Jaadugar".

The Anantnag Police had told the news agency, ‘During the ongoing film shooting at Pahalgam, on September 18, at the closing of the shooting at 7:15pm, One miscreant pelted stones at the crew members. Accordingly, an FIR was registered at Police Station Pahalgam. The miscreant was identified and arrested.’  In an August 29 report, Greater Kashmir quoted a member of the crew as saying that it was the first time Emraan has visited the valley. ‘The actor reached Srinagar on August 24 and the film unit has begun shooting. Trouble is mounting for actor Jacqueline Fernandez who is embroiled in an ongoing money laundering investigation.
The Enforcement Directorate on Sunday stopped the actor at the Mumbai airport preventing Jacqueline from flying abroad. The agency stated that she may be required to join the ongoing investigation against alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar and others.
The 36-year-old actor was first stopped by the immigration authorities at the airport on the basis of a Look Out Circular (LoC) issued by the federal probe agency.
Agency sleuths then reached the Mumbai airport and stopped Jacqueline Fernandez from travelling, asking her to remain in the country as she may be required to join the probe.
It is understood that she was travelling to Dubai for a show.
The Sri Lankan-origin actor was questioned by the ED in in connection with the Rs 200 crore money laundering case being probed against Chandrashekhar and his actor wife Leena Maria Paul.
The agency on Saturday filed a charge sheet before a special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court in this case and named Chandrashekhar, his wife and six others in it It had alleged in the charge sheet that Chandrashekhar had gifted the actor numerous costly gifts, including some Persian cats and a horse. He is accused of cheating some people, including some high-profile individuals such as former Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Mohan Singh's wife Aditi Singh.
Another Bollywood actor-dancer Nora Fatehi has also been grilled by the ED in this case Investigation found that Chandrashekhar was lodged in a Delhi jail when he allegedly ran an extortion racket using phone spoofing technology.
The ED had arrested the couple and two co-accused, Pradeep Ramnani and Deepak Ramnani, in this case.

The agency on Saturday filed a charge sheet before a special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court in this case and named Chandrashekhar, his wife and six others in it It had alleged in the charge sheet that Chandrashekhar had gifted the actor numerous costly gifts, including some Persian cats and a horse. He is accused of cheating some people, including some high-profile individuals such as former Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Mohan Singh's wife Aditi Singh.
Another Bollywood actor-dancer Nora Fatehi has also been grilled by the ED in this case Investigation found that Chandrashekhar was lodged in a Delhi jail when he allegedly ran an extortion racket using a phone spoofing technology.
The ED had arrested the couple and two co-accused, Pradeep Ramnani and Deepak Ramnani, in this case.
