Outgoing Chief Justice of India S A Bobde had considered actor Shah Rukh Khan for mediation in the Ayodhya Ramjanmabhoomi dispute, senior advocate Vikas Singh said at the virtual farewell hosted for the CJI by the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) on Friday.
Singh said Shah Rukh had even agreed, and said the foundation stone of the mandir be laid by Muslims, and the foundation of the masjid be laid by Hindus, but the mediation process failed and so the plan was dropped. 
The mediation panel had been set up in March 2019 by a five-judge Constitution Bench headed by then CJI Ranjan Gogoi, comprising former Supreme Court judge Justice F M I Kalifulla, Art of Living Foundation's Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, and senior advocate Sriram Panchu.

The Supreme Court on Thursday called out the Centre for submitting an 'evasive' and 'brazen' affidavit on the alleged motivated media reporting in the Tablighi&nbsp;Jamat case. A bench headed by&nbsp;CJI SA Bobde&nbsp;was hearing pleas by the Jamiat-Ulma-i-Hind who alleged that a section of media was spreading communal hatred over the Tablighi&nbsp;Jamat&nbsp;congregation that took place in March. The SC also asked the I&amp;B Ministry to submit a fresh affidavit with details of steps taken in past to curb the motivated media reporting and also snapped at the centre for accusing the petitioners of muzzling the freedom of speech. The top court went on to say that&nbsp;the Freedom of Speech is the most abused right in recent times.

The Supreme Court said&nbsp;on Thursday it will hear the&nbsp;PIL seeking a court-monitored CBI probe into the death of Sushant's former manager Disha Salian&nbsp;after the&nbsp;PIL&nbsp;alleges both the deaths are inter-linked.&nbsp;
Filed by Puneet Kaur Dhanda through advocate Vineet Dhanda,&nbsp; the PIL is listed for hearing before a bench headed by Chief Justice S.A. Bobde and comprising Justices A.S. Bopanna and V. Ramasubramanian.&nbsp;
Disha&nbsp;Salian died on June 8 after falling off the 14th floor of a residential building in Mumbai's Malad West. and Sushant died a week later on June 14.

According to the court listing, a bench headed by Chief Justice SA&nbsp;Bobde and comprising Justices AS&nbsp;Bopanna and V&nbsp;Ramasubramanian&nbsp;will hear the plea on Thursday.&nbsp;
