Cases have grown over 150% in 3 weeks to 31,000, while over 2,100 deaths have been reported.&nbsp; The increase in number is largely&nbsp;the result of&nbsp;severe shortage of the key drug - Amphotericin-B to treat affected patients. Maharashtra&nbsp;leads with 7,057&nbsp;Black Fungus&nbsp;cases and 609 deaths; it is followed by Gujarat with 5,418 cases and 323 deaths. Rajasthan has seen 2,976 cases. Karnataka has reported 188 deaths so far. Back on May 25,&nbsp;Maharashtra had 2,770 Black Fungus cases, while Gujarat reported 2,859 cases on the same day.

Nearly 9,000 cases of black fungus have been registered across the country, Union Minister Sadananda&nbsp;Gowda&nbsp;informed on Saturday. After a detailed review of the rising number of mucormycosis&nbsp;cases, a total of 23,680 additional vials of Amphotericin&nbsp;B have been allocated to states and UTs, Gowda&nbsp;tweeted. The allocation has been made based on the total number of cases which is approximately 8,848 across the country, he added. He also shared an image revealing the break up of the vials allocated to different states.&nbsp;Gujrat&nbsp;which has&nbsp;2200 cases, the maximum number of cases will be given 5800 vials. Maharashtra&nbsp;and Andhra Pradesh will get 5090 and 2300 vials respectively.
