Thousands of farmers gathered at Muzaffarnagar for a &lsquo;Kisan Mahapanchayat&rsquo; made it abundantly clear that they will campaign against the BJP in Uttar Pradesh for the 2022 assembly polls.
Samyukt Kisan Morcha, the organisers of the event said that the mahapanchayat will make the Modi and Yogi governments realise the power of farmers, farm labourers, and supporters of the farm movement.

BJP leader Meenakshi Lekhi &lsquo;s remarks on farm protests outside the Parliament on Thursday have drawn a lot of flak. &nbsp;The recently appointed Minister of State for External Affairs reportedly said the protestors were &ldquo;not farmers, they are hooligans.&rdquo;.
Union minister Meenakshi Lekhi said the opposition was promoting such activities while talking about an alleged attack on a media person during the &lsquo;Farmers&rsquo; Parliament&rsquo; at the Jantar Mantar in Delhi.

As the Opposition raises the stakes over the three contentious farm bills, more than two dozen farmer organisations have extended their support to the 'Bharat Bandh' call on Friday, September 25, to protest against the farm Bills passed by Parliament.
31 farmer bodies in Punjab and Haryana cutting across party lines are already protesting against the farm Bills. Farmer organisations such as All India Farmers Union (AIFU), Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU), and others will join the protest.
Farmers&rsquo; bodies from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra have also called for a shutdown on September 25. Ten Central trade unions, have also come out in support of bandh.
