Former Delhi minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Satyendar Jain has filed a defamation suit against BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj, accusing her of making defamatory remarks in a television interview. The Rouse Avenue Court is scheduled to hear the complaint today.
Jain alleges that Swaraj, during her interview on October 5, 2023, falsely claimed that ₹3 crore, 1.8 kilograms of gold, and 133 gold coins were recovered from his residence. He contends that these allegations were entirely baseless and politically motivated to damage his reputation.
Furthermore, Jain claims that Swaraj's accusations of him being "corrupt" and "fraudulent" were malicious and caused significant harm to his personal and professional standing. He asserts that the false statements have not only tarnished his image as a public representative but also affected his reputation within his family and society.

A report in The News Minute has claimed that the passenger who unlocked emergency door of the IndiGo flight was BJP MP Tejasvi Surya.
As per the report, Chennai Airport and DGCA officials confirmed the incident that the emergency door of the plane was accidentally unlocked. However, they refused to divulge any details on the passenger's identity or whether it was Surya.
But the publication quoted an eyewitness saying "It was Tejasvi Surya who opened the exit".&nbsp;&nbsp;
Another report by The New Indian Express also stated that the Airlines did not comment on the identity but added that the passenger apologised for the incident.&nbsp;

Rajya Sabha proceedings were adjourned briefly during the morning session on Friday amid a uproar after BJP MP Roopa Ganguly raised the Birbhum incident in West Bengal in which eight people were charred to death.
The BJP member, in her Zero Hour mention, termed the incident a case of mass murder.
This led to a protest by members of the TMC, the ruling party in West Bengal, and some of them trooped in the Well of the House.
Treasury benches members too raised counter-slogans.
Amid the uproar, Deputy Chairman Harivansh, who was presiding over the session, adjourned the proceedings for about 25 minutes till 12.10 pm.
Eight people, including two children, were charred to death in Bogtui village of Bengal’s Birbhum district in the suspected fallout of a TMC panchayat official’s murder.
Opposition parties welcomed the Calcutta High Court order delivered on Friday for CBI investigation into the violence, alleging that the state police, acting on the behest of the TMC government, was trying to hush up the matter.
