The Election Commission of India organised a food festival in Bikaner to spread the message of the importance of voting.&nbsp;

Lok Sabha Elections are all set to begin from April 19. Political parties are busy spreading their ideas through rallies and social media. The Election Commission wants more people to vote, so they organized an event in Bikaner, Rajasthan, to show how important voting is.&nbsp;
Even Baba Ramdev joined and asked people to vote for their favourite party.&nbsp;
The food festival was held at Masala Chowk, Bikaner. Huge varieties of food were on display like an 8 kg samosa, 5 kg pizza, and a 25 kg bread. They also had a 20 kg burger, a 4 kg hot dog, and a 30-inch papad. These things came with a message 'must-vote'.
They even made a 42 kg dessert with the message 'must vote'. They used 31 kilos of Bengali sweets to make the Indian flag and wrote voting messages on it. They also served a 1.5-foot-long Jalebi. Along with the food, there were cultural programs.
People who came promised to vote in the upcoming elections while enjoying the food.
Other cities are also doing campaigns for a high voter turnout. In Sivakasi, they installed a Photo Point to encourage everyone to vote. The district officer, VP Jayaseelan, talked to young voters about the importance of voting.

Lala Kedarnath Aggarwal, who once sold bhujia and rasgullas in buckets on the streets of old Delhi before establishing sweets and snacks brand Bikanervala, passed away on Monday. He was 86.
The demise of Aggarwal, fondly known as Kakaji, "marked the end of an era that has enriched palates and touched countless lives," Bikanervala said in a statement. The company operates more than 60 outlets in India and has presence in countries such as the USA, New Zealand, Singapore, Nepal and the UAE.
"Kakaji's departure is not just a loss to Bikanervala; it's a void in the culinary landscape. His vision and leadership will forever guide our culinary journey," said the group's Managing Director Shyam Sunder Aggarwal.
Kedarnath Aggarwal started his entrepreneurial journey in Delhi.
Hailing from Bikaner, his family owned a sweet shop in the bylanes of the city since 1905. The shop was named as Bikaner Namkeen Bhandar and used to sell a few varieties of sweets and snacks.
Aggarwal, who had larger ambitions, migrated to Delhi in the early 50s along with his brother Satyanarayan Aggarwal, bringing his family recipe to the city.
Initially, both struggled with carrying buckets filled with bhujia and rasgulla, selling in the streets of old Delhi. However, the Aggarwal brothers' hard work and the unique taste of Bikaner soon gained recognition and acceptance among the people of Delhi.
Later Aggarwal brothers set up a shop in Delhi's Chandini Chowk, where they used their family recipes which were handed down from generation to generation.
Bikaner Namkeen Bhandar soon became famous for its Moong Dal Halwa, Bikaneri Bhujia and Kaju Katli, amongst others. The two brothers and the shop soon became popular as Bikanervala.
"As we bid farewell to a legend, we carry forward his legacy with a deep sense of responsibility. Bikanervala will continue to be a reflection of his values &ndash; a place where every dish tells a story and every customer is part of our extended family," said Radhey Mohan Aggarwal, Director of Bikanervala Group and eldest son of Kakaji.&nbsp;

Accused Ammar worked as a manager in a 5-star hotel in Bikaner, where he forced her wife for a 'swap game' and had unnnatural sex with her on refusal.
The woman also levelled Rs 50 lakhs dowry allegations against her in-laws, who reportedly did not pay heed to her complaints, and rather blamed her for not being 'modern enough'.
A case has been registered in Bhopal against woman's husband, her mother-in-law and sister-in-law under Dowry Prohibition Act.

A team of researchers has discovered evidence of a lost river that ran through the Thar Desert near Bikaner almost 172 thousand years ago.
The team, from Anna University in Tamil Nadu and The Max Planck Institute for the Science of Human History in Germany among others, claims that the Stone Age population lived in a different landscape of the Thar Desert that we see today and the river may have helped them thrive.
The evidence shows the oldest directly dated phase of river activity in the Thar region. Before this, the oldest evidence of river activity comes from the Luni Valley active 80,00090,000 years ago.
Deposits of river sands and gravels was studied near Nal village, using a method called luminescence. This helped them date the river system for the first time.
