Opposition leaders on Tuesday stepped up their attack against the Election Commission over the voter roll revision in Bihar, with protesting MPs holding a huge banner carrying pictures of the election commissioners and raising slogans against the poll body.
The banner, which carried the picture of CEC Gyanesh Kumar and other two election commissioners in the panel Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi, also had "vote chor" and the words 'Silent Invisible Rigging' written on them.
The protest in Parliament complex was led by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge. He was accompanied by prominent opposition leaders and MPs, including Akhilesh Yadav and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
Kharge later shared a video of their protest in Parliament in a post on X.
"The Election Commission cannot run away from its constitutional responsibility.
INDIA (bloc) has raised serious questions on Free &amp; Fair Elections with evidence, which the Election Commission should answer by investigating and not by intimidating the opposition!" Kharge said in his post in Hindi.
"From the streets to the Parliament, the fight for voting rights continues," he also said.
The opposition has been protesting in both Houses of Parliament against the SIR, alleging that the EC's exercise is aimed at "disenfranchising voters" in Bihar ahead of the assembly elections due later this year. They have been demanding a discussion on the issue in both Houses.

Opposition INDIA Bloc leaders met here on Monday to consider moving an impeachment notice against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar as it stepped up it protests over voter roll revision in Bihar and alleged "vote theft."&nbsp;
Several Opposition leaders met in the chamber of Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge and held discussions on how the CEC on Sunday addressed a press conference without answering any of the questions raised by them, sources said.
Some opposition MPs felt that this fight has to be taken forward and suggested an impeachment motion against the CEC, the sources said.
They said the fight against the EC needs to be taken forward as it has not answered or cleared the doubts raised in the poll process.
Though the move is in the discussion stage, the opposition parties will meet again and crystallise this further, the sources said.
Asked about the move, Congress leader Naseer Hussain said they would use every democratic means in this regard.
"We were expecting yesterday that the Election Commission would answer and address all concerns and questions being raised by the public and would clear doubts and anomalies being pointed out by people," he said.
"The EC has not given any answers on people declared dead in electoral rolls and is acting as spokesperson of BJP and talking in the same manner as BJP spokesperson. We need a completely impartial CEC and Election Commission in the country," he said.
"We are ready to use any process in Parliamentary democracy, if need be," Hussain asserted when asked about the impeachment notice being mulled against the CEC.
Addressing a press conference in Delhi on Sunday, CEC Kumar said the electoral roll revision is aimed at removing all shortcomings in voter lists and it is a matter of grave concern that some parties are spreading misinformation about it and firing from the EC's shoulder .
The CEC rejected as "baseless" the allegations of double voting and "vote theft" and asserted that all stakeholders are working to make SIR a success in a transparent manner.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday said the poll body is colluding with the BJP to carry out "vote chori openly" in the name of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Bihar and asserted that he is not sacred of EC officials.
Addressing a gathering here at the end of the first day of his Voter Adhikar Yatra which began from Bihar's Sasaram, Gandhi also said while he was asked to submit an affidavit after his press conference exposing "vote chori", no such demand was made from BJP leader Anurag Thakur who made similar claims in his presser.
The Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha also alleged that the SIR of electoral rolls in Bihar was a way to steal votes of the people of the state.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday said the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls is a "new weapon" of "vote chori" and vowed to protect the 'one person, one vote' principle.
He made the remarks in a post on his WhatsApp channel while talking about his meeting with a group of people who had cast their vote in the previous Lok Sabha election but their name had been deleted in the SIR exercise in Bihar.
Gandhi met the group at the launch of his Vote Adhikar Yatra in Sasaram on Sunday.
In his post in Hindi along with a picture of the meeting, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha said, "SIR is a new weapon of vote theft. Coincidentally, these people standing with me in this picture are 'living' proof of this theft." "All of them had cast their vote in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections - but by the time Bihar assembly elections came, their identity, their existence was erased from the democracy of India," he said.
"Do you know who they are? Raj Mohan Singh (70): Farmer and retired soldier; Umravati Devi (35): Dalit and labourer; Dhanjay Kumar Bind (30): Backward class and labourer; Sita Devi (45): Woman and former MNREGA labourer; Raju Devi (55): Backward class and labourer; Mohmuddin Ansari (52): Minority and labourer," he said.
The "collusion" of BJP and Election Commission is punishing them for being 'Bahujan' and poor - even our soldiers were not spared, Gandhi said.
Neither will they have a vote, nor identity or rights, he added.
"Due to social discrimination and economic conditions, they are unable to fight against the conspiracy of the system.We stand here with them to protect the most basic right of 'one person, one vote'," he said.
This is a question of rights and of everyone's participation in a democracy, he said, adding that "we will not let it end under any circumstances".
Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi, RJD's Tejashwi Yadav along with Vikassheel Insan Party's Mukesh Sahani prayed at the Devkund Surya Mandir here as their Voter Adhikar Yatra entered its second day.
Travelling from Kutumba, the Yatra is expected to reach Gaya this evening.
Embarking on a 1,300 km 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' from Sasaram, Gandhi on Sunday had accused the Election Commission of "stealing" elections in collusion with the BJP and asserted that the INDIA bloc will not let their "latest conspiracy" to steal Bihar polls through SIR of electoral rolls succeed.
After 16 days, the yatra will conclude with a rally in Patna on September 1.
The yatra is being undertaken in a hybrid mode, on foot and by vehicle, as was Gandhi's Manipur to Mumbai Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday asked the Election Commission to furnish by August 9 the details of around 65 lakh electors left out from the draft electoral rolls in poll-bound Bihar.
A bench of Justices Surya Kant, Ujjal Bhuyan and N Kotiswar Singh asked the counsel for the poll panel to furnish the details of deleted voters, the data which has been already shared with the political parties, and give a copy to the NGO, Association For Democratic Reforms.
The NGO, which has challenged the June 24 order of the Election Commission directing for Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, filed a fresh application seeking direction to the poll panel to publish the names of around 65 lakh deleted voters with the mention whether they are dead, permanently migrated or not considered for any other reason.
The bench told advocate Prashant Bhushan, appearing for the NGO, that the reason for deletion would come in subsequent time as it is now only a draft list.
However, Bhushan contended that some political parties have been given a list of deleted voters but they have not further clarified whether the said voter is dead or migrated.
The bench told the ECI's counsel, "We will see every voter likely to be affected and get the required information. You (ECI) file a reply by Saturday and let Mr Bhushan look at it and then we can see what is disclosed and what is not disclosed." Bhushan alleged that 75 percent of voters, who have filled the enumeration form have not furnished any supporting documents mentioned in the list of 11 documents and their names were included on the recommendation of Booth Level Officer (BLO) of the poll panel.
The bench said it is commencing hearing on a batch of petitions challenging the June 24 order of the poll panel on August 12 and the NGO can make these averments on that day.
Terming the Election Commission a constitutional authority deemed to act in accordance with law, the top court had said on July 29 that it will step in immediately if there is "mass exclusion" in the SIR of electoral rolls in Bihar.
It had fixed a timeline for considering a batch of pleas challenging the Election Commission's SIR exercise in Bihar and said the hearing on the issue will be held on August 12 and 13.
Earlier, observing there should be "en masse inclusion" instead of "en masse exclusion&rdquo; in the ongoing SIR exercise of voters' list in poll-bound Bihar, the top court asked the Election Commission to continue accepting Aadhaar and voter ID documents.
Underscoring the "presumption of genuineness" of the two documents, the top court also refused to stay the publication of the draft electoral roll in Bihar.
The draft roll was published on August 1 and the final roll on September 30 amid opposition claims that the ongoing exercise will deprive crores of eligible citizens from their right to vote.
On August 1, the poll panel came out with the much-anticipated 'draft electoral rolls' in Bihar, enlisting 7.24 crore voters but knocking off more than 65 lakh names, claiming that most of the persons concerned had died or migrated.
The draft electoral rolls, prepared as part of the SIR, which has caused much controversy as the exercise was ordered with just a few months left for assembly polls, are available for voters online.
The EC has said it was making available printed copies, district-wise, to representatives of political parties so that anomalies, if any, could be flagged during the 'claims and objections' phase, which would continue till September 1 before the 'final rolls' are published.
The reasons cited by the EC for non-inclusion of previously registered voters in the draft rolls included death (22.34 lakh), "permanently shifted/absent" (36.28 lakh) and "already enrolled (at more than one places)" (7.01 lakh).
The EC affidavit in the top court has justified its ongoing SIR of electoral rolls in Bihar, saying it adds to the purity of the election by "weeding out ineligible persons" from the electoral rolls.&nbsp;

The Election Commission (EC) on Friday published the draft electoral rolls for Bihar, following the completion of the month-long Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise ahead of the upcoming assembly polls.
No compiled list was made available, but voters can check their names on the EC's website.
There were 7.93 crore registered voters in the state before the SIR began in June, according to the EC.
It is yet to be known how many voters are in the just-published draft rolls.
Printouts of the rolls will be made available to representatives of various political parties later in the day, officials said.
The publication of the draft rolls kicked off the process of "claims and objections", which would continue till September 1. During this period, voters with complaints of wrongful deletion of names can approach the authorities concerned, seeking a remedy.
Assembly elections would be due in the state later this year.
In the first stage of SIR, voters were provided with "enumeration forms", either by booth-level officers (BLO) or booth-level agents (BLA) nominated by political parties, which they were to return after putting their signatures and appending documents acceptable as proof of identity.
People also had the option of downloading and submitting these enumeration forms online.
The process was over by July 25 and, according to the EC, "7.23 crore voters" submitted their enumeration forms, while 35 lakh were found to have "permanently migrated or gone untraceable".
Another 22 lakh have been reported to be deceased, while 7 lakh people were registered as voters in more than one electoral roll.
The EC also claimed that enumeration forms were not submitted by 1.2 lakh voters.
The mammoth exercise was carried out by BLOs deputed across 77,895 polling centres, assisted by 1.60 lakh BLAs and other volunteers, under the supervision of 243 EROs (Electors Registration Officers) and 2,976 Assistant EROs.
The opposition parties criticised the exercise, alleging that it was undertaken to "help" the ruling NDA in the upcoming polls. Petitions were also filed against it in the Supreme Court, which said earlier this week that the SIR should result in "en masse inclusion and not en masse exclusion". PTI

Opposition MPs led by Sonia Gandhi continue protests for the 7th day in Parliament complex against the Election Commission&rsquo;s Special Intensive Revision of voter rolls in Bihar.

Several MPs of the INDIA bloc parties, including Congress parliamentary party chairperson Sonia Gandhi, protested in the Parliament House complex for the seventh consecutive day on Wednesday against the Election Commission's voter roll revision in Bihar, and demanded its rollback.
Ahead of the day's proceedings in Parliament, Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and other opposition MPs raised slogans and protested against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar.
There was a huge banner in front of them which read 'SIR- Loktantra Pe Vaar' as they lined up on and near the steps of the Makar Dwar of Parliament and staged a protest for the seventh consecutive day.
With 'Stop SIR' placards in hand, several MPs of the opposition, including those of the Congress, DMK, TMC, Samajwadi Party, RJD and Left parties, participated in the protest and raised slogans.
