A Bihar BJP leader remained seated when the state anthem was played in the state Assembly on Wednesday, prompting the ruling 'Mahagathbandhan' to take offence over the action.
The state anthem was played on the last day of the budget session and BJP MLA Jibesh Kumar Mishra was seen remaining seated through it.
Mishra, who represents Jale constituency of Darbhanga district, said the state anthem does not mention 18 districts of the state that are part of the Mithila region. Darbhanga is considered the heart of 'Mithalanchal', a region where the dominant language is Maithili.
"Apparently the state anthem does not talk about personalities and the culture of Mithila. It talks about only a particular portion of the state. It talks about only Nalanda, the home district of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. My intention was not to disrespect the state anthem ... But it should have been a complete anthem," Mishra told reporters outside the assembly, after it was adjourned sine die on Wednesday.
'Mere Bharat Ke Kanth Haar' is the state song of Bihar and was officially adopted in March 2012. The lyrics were written by Satya Narayan and the music was composed by Hari Prasad Chaurasia and Shivkumar Sharma. Kumar has been the chief minister of the state since 2005 after a brief stint in 2000.

Ruckus ensued inside Bihar Assembly on Wednesday as both opposition BJP and ruling 'Mahagathbandhan' accused each other for the violence  during Ramnavami celebrations.

Ruckus ensued inside Bihar Assembly on Wednesday as both opposition BJP and ruling 'Mahagathbandhan' accused each other of the violence in Sasaram and Bihar Sharif in Nalanda district during Ramnavami celebrations.&nbsp;
Opposition BJP MLAs demonstrated both inside and outside the assembly and one of its legislators Jibesh Kumar Mishra had to be marshalled out after he resorted to sloganeering against the government and disrupted the Question Hour.
As soon as the proceedings of the House began, BJP MLAs entered the well and raised slogans against the government, accusing it of not handling the communal clashes effectively. Leader of Opposition, Vijay Kumar Sinha, also accused the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government, of targetting people belonging to a particular community in the name of handling communal clashes.

Bihar Police authorities have asked an inspector general rank officer to examine the authenticity of evidence furnished against the Nawada district SP that he allegedly kept five cops inside a lockup for two hours, and initiate action if he is found guilty.
The Magadh IG, Vinay Kumar, was directed to complete the investigation into the matter within seven working days and update the Headquarters, according to an order issued by the Anil Kishore Yadav, Additional Director General (ADG), CID & Weaker Section division of the Bihar Police.
“If the evidence is found to be authentic, a case should be registered against the Nawada SP,” the order said.
The alleged incident took place in a police station in Nawada district on September 9 as SP Gaurav Mangala was dissatisfied with the performance of three assistant sub-inspectors and two sub-inspectors. He allegedly put them inside the lock-up for two hours.
Bihar Police Association lodged a complaint with the ADG and submitted electronic evidence against Mangala.
The SP concerned was not available for comment. When contacted, Vinay Kumar refused to speak on the issue.
