Actor Abhishek Banerjee is best known for his work in films like &lsquo;Stree&rsquo;, &lsquo;Ajeeb Daastaans&rsquo;, and &lsquo;Pataal Lok&rsquo;. In an exclusive conversation with Hindustan Times, Abhishek revealed that he has been confused with the Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee several times and many people have tagged him on Twitter thinking he&rsquo;s Mamata Banerjee&rsquo;s nephew. &nbsp;
He also mentioned that there&rsquo;s another person in the film industry with the same name &ndash; the one who wrote Anuskha Sharma&rsquo;s &lsquo;Pari&rsquo;. The actor said that people actually thought he lied to them.
&lsquo;They thought I didn&rsquo;t tell them about scriptwriting to avoid working with them. I had to prove it to them. I am happy that slowly and steadily my name is becoming more and more known. But I wouldn&rsquo;t change my name,&rsquo; he chuckled.
Abhishek Banerjee revived his role as Jaana aka JD, from the &lsquo;Stree&rsquo; universe, in Amar Kaushik&rsquo;s latest release &lsquo;Bhediya&rsquo;. He has shared the screen space with Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon in horror-comedy.
Talking about his film, Abhishek said that he&rsquo;s thankful to Amar Kaushik that he made him repeat his character in a different universe.
&lsquo;This is the first time it has happened. Marvel, Avengers and DC walo ne kiya hain but never in India. Taking that risk was also very challenging,&rsquo; he said.
He added that he was quite scared because he was wondering how he could pull off the same character in a different film.
&lsquo;I had to be the same character all over again and also not give away too much. This is tremendous pressure for an actor. I didn&rsquo;t have any examples from Bollywood to look up to. I could only do it just by copying myself but again it can&rsquo;t be repetitive. I couldn&rsquo;t fathom this could happen,&rsquo; he said.

'Drishyam 2' is about to surpass Alia Bhatt's 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' lifetime collection. 

'Drishyam 2', starring Ajay Devgn, Tabu, and Shriya Saran, released in theatres on November 18.

'Drishyam 2', starring Ajay Devgn, Tabu, and Shriya Saran, is doing wonders at the box office. Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the film earned a whopping amount of ₹ 39.24 crores this weekend at the domestic box office. As per a Hindustan Times report, the film crossed the ₹ 200-crore mark worldwide on Sunday. According to these box office numbers, the film will soon be surpassing the lifetime collection of Alia Bhatt's 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' which earned ₹211 crores at the ticket booth.
This means it is already among the top 5 highest-grossing Bollywood films of the year.

'Drishyam 2', which was released on November 18, also stars Akshaye Khanna, and Ishita Dutta among others. It is the sequel to the 2015 hit film 'Drishyam' and also a remake of Mohanlal&rsquo;s 2021 Malayalam film with the same name.

'Bhediya', the highly-anticipated horror comedy, starring Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon, is finally in cinemas. Ahead of its theatrical release, a special screening of the Amar Kaushik-directorial was held in Mumbai which was attended by several celebrities including Rajkummar Rao, Janhvi Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor.
Varun, the leading man, arrived at the venue in a black designer shirt paired with matching trousers, while Kriti looked pretty in a beige co-ord set paired with a matching blazer. The 'Mimi' actor's family members were present at the screening as well.
Janhvi wore a black-beige striped bodycon dress, Rajkumar opted for a white shirt paired with denims and Yami looked beautiful in a black top teamed up with a blue skirt.
'Bhediya' is third installment in Dinesh Vijan's horror comedy universe after 'Stree' and 'Roohi'. It is expected to get a sequel and a spin off. The film also stars Deepak Dobriyal and Abhishek Banerjee and Shraddha Kapoor makes a special appearance in the film.

Talking about the quality of VFX in recent films, the actor said, &lsquo;Indian cinema, we are ready for this and we are not going to settle for less. I have starred in a film where the VFX has been cringeworthy, of course during promotions I would have said that&mdash;but obviously, no one will criticise it then. There have been cringeworthy moments in VFX, but I haven&rsquo;t done them. But I can try and work with directors and producers who can bring about that change. So I feel that I am more responsible.&rsquo;

Mili (Nov. 4)
This survival thriller, directed by Mathukutty Xavier and produced by Boney Kapoor, stars Janhvi Kapoor, Sunny Kaushal and Manoj Pahwa. It is remake of 2019 Malayalam film &lsquo;Helen&rsquo;.
It narrates a story of a woman stuck in a freezer, racing against time to stay alive.
Double XL (Nov. 4)
The Satram Ramani-directorial stars Sonakshi Sinha, Huma Qureshi, Zaheer Iqbal and Mahat Raghavendra. It explores the journey of two plus-size women who defy society's strict beauty norms as they pursue their respective careers.

Varun Dhawan has shared a new poster from his upcoming movie &lsquo;Bhediya&rsquo;, co-starring Kriti Sanon. Ahead of the trailer release, the new poster features the characters in the film. Varun Dhawan looks fierce as a werewolf and you can spot Kriti Sanon, Abhishek Banerjee, Paalin Kabak and Deepak Dobriya in the background. Sharing the poster, Varun also mentioned that the trailer of the film will be out on October 19. Varun Dhawan, in the caption, wrote, &lsquo;Ab hoga jungle mein kaand. In an interview with Pinkvilla, Varun Dhawan and the director and head of the SVOD division of Amazon, Sushant Sreeram, discussed the success and failure of content released on the platform, and the dynamics of OTT. 
Talking about his experience of watching a film in the theatre, he said that he remembers watching ‘Kaante’ in a single-screen theatre. Varun added that he was underage when we watched the movie and went with his cousin Akshay for the same. The actor also narrated the experience as ‘thrilling’. 
On the work front, Varun Dhawan will be seen in Kaushik's ‘Bhediya’ alongside Kriti Sanon and Nitesh Tiwari's ‘Bawaal’, with Janhvi Kapoor. He has also been selected as Amazon Prime Video's BAE.

Varun was also seen at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai's Bandra where the 40-year-old driver was declared dead by the doctors. 
Mourning the loss, the actor took to Instagram and penned a heartfelt note for Manoj. 
He shared a priceless throwback video from his wax statue inauguration event at Madame Tussauds, Hong Kong, where he heaped praise on his driver and revealed that Manoj was there for him throughout his journey. 
Calling him dada, Varun wrote that he spent close to 26 years with him and that he has no words to express his grief. 
The 34-year-old actor said he was devastated with the loss as Sahu was an integral part of his life. 
On the work front, Varun Dhawan will be seen next in 'Bhediya' with Kriti Sanon. Backed by Dinesh Vijan, the film is directed by Amar Kaushik. He will also star in 'Jug Jugg Jeeyo' co-starring Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor and Kiara Advani.
