Now, a video has been released by YRF that takes us behind the scenes of the song shoot and shows how it was filmed in challenging weather conditions.
Shah Rukh Khan called the making of &lsquo;Besharam Rang&rsquo; a &lsquo;family vacation&rsquo;. He said, &lsquo;We know Siddharth chooses exotic locations. They were quite virgin locations for me also. I have never seen it. There was this place on the cliff, water was coming in and it was astounding to look at. All those locations were untouched and it was like a breath of fresh air. I had taken my kids; it was really wonderful. It was like a family holiday.&rsquo;
The video also shows Deepika hugging SRK&rsquo;s son AbRam. She is also seen braving the severe weather conditions to perfect the steps of &lsquo;Besharam Rang&rsquo;.
Choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant said that the weather did not cooperate with them and it was very windy and also raining while they were shooting. Calling SRK a &lsquo;magic man&rsquo;, she added that when he arrived on the sets, the sun came out and the weather suddenly turned pleasant. &lsquo;Besharam Rang&rsquo; was shot at multiple locations in Spain.
&lsquo;Pathaan&rsquo;, directed by Siddharth Anand, also stars John Abraham. The film has earned over Rs 900 crore worldwide, and in India, it has earned over Rs 489 crore.

Actor Deepika Padukone&rsquo;s much-awaited film &lsquo;Pathaan&rsquo;, co-starring Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham, is all set to release in theatres on January 25. Ahead of its release, Yash Raj Films shared a video in which Deepika spoke about the film&rsquo;s controversial song &lsquo;Besharam Rang&rsquo;. She revealed how the team worked in 'very difficult conditions' for the song.
When asked to choose her favourite song from &lsquo;Pathaan&rsquo;&mdash;'Jhoome Ja Pathaan&rsquo; or &lsquo;Besharam Rang&rsquo;, she called both the songs &lsquo;massive hits&rsquo;.
&lsquo;Both of the songs are my favourite. It's very difficult to choose. They are both very different. For Besharam Rang, I had to work a lot harder. That's sort of in a way my solo song. The location we were shooting at was really difficult. Even though the song looks really summery, bright and beautiful, it was actually freezing and extremely windy. So we were working in very very difficult conditions and still to sort of make it look like it was beautiful and sunny was the tough part,&rsquo; Deepika said.
&lsquo;Having said that I think I had fun in both of the songs. The second one is with Shah Rukh Khan. Again when he and I dance together we have a really good time. I think both of us are the kind of dancers that don't really worry about the technicality of a step. We just understand what a step is and have fun with it. So yeah, I think I have enjoyed both of the songs. Both are my favourite but the beautiful part is that both the songs are a massive hit,&rsquo; she added.
&lsquo;Besharam Rang&rsquo;, featuring Deepika with SRK, was choreographed by Vaibhavi Merchant in Spain. It is sung by Shilpa Rao, Caralisa Monteiro, Vishal and Sheykhar. The music has been composed by Vishal-Sheykhar and the lyrics by Kumaar.
&lsquo;Jhoome Jo Pathaan&rsquo; is performed by Arijit Singh, Sukriti Kakar, Vishal Dadlani and Sheykhar Ravijani.

A section of society claimed the colour is sacred in Hinduism, while some objected to the title of the film which happens to be a particular ethnic group.
Commenting on the same, Javed Akhtar said, &lsquo;If he (the minister) thinks there should be a separate censor board for Madhya Pradesh, they (should) watch the film separately. And if they are unhappy with the Centre's film certification, we should not come in between them, it is between them and the Centre.&rsquo;
When asked about the recently constituted 'Dharma Censor Board', Javed said, &lsquo;There is one censor board in MP, then this is there and one censor board of the centre is also there. What is the problem? We have four-five important 'dharmas' and they should have their censors. Maybe then moulvis (under Islam) will start watching films. Do it, do it!&rsquo;
&lsquo;It is not for me or you to decide whether the song is right or wrong. We have an agency,&rsquo; he added. Javed Akhtar said the people should trust the certification provided by the censor board and the cuts they suggest.
On the other hand, veteran actor Anant Nag slammed the costume worn by Deepika Padukone in the &lsquo;Pathaan&rsquo;
Speaking with Asianet, Anant Nag described the song as having &lsquo;nudity content&rsquo;. &lsquo;Showing women in such a way is not part of our Indian culture. If the censor team had done their job, this wouldn&rsquo;t have happened in the first place,&rdquo; he said, adding, &ldquo;Forget about movies, look at OTT content, they show all sorts of nasty and offensive stuff. Everything is openly shown and no one is there to stop them,&rsquo; he said.
The actor concluded, &lsquo;The Indian Cinema should stop such nudity content on big and small screens. Showing things against our culture and tradition will definitely cause conflicts among the people.&rsquo;

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, the Dadasaheb Phalke award winner said, &lsquo;Our industry has never gone through such a bad phase. I&rsquo;ve been part of it for more than sixty years. I have never seen such a low phase in the history of the industry. Pathaan needs to be released without any hindrance.&rsquo;
She also added that Yash Raj Films has &lsquo;suffered a series of blows&rsquo; and that they &lsquo;can&rsquo;t afford another one.&rsquo;

It faced major backlash as there were some people who found the song objectionable over the use of saffron and green costumes, and its dance moves. Right-wing groups have also been protesting and demanding the boycott of the film.
Now, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has asked makers of &lsquo;Pathaan&rsquo; to implement changes in the film, including in its songs.
In a statement, CBFC chairperson, Prasoon Joshi said, &lsquo;Pathaan went through the due and through examining process as per the CBFC guidelines. The committee has guided the makers to implement the advised changes in the film including the songs and submit the revised version prior to theatrical release.&rsquo;
Joshi added that &lsquo;CBFC is always committed to find the right balance between creative expression and sensibility of the audience and believe that we can always find solution through meaningful dialogue between all stakeholders. Whilst the process is getting duly followed and implemented I must reiterate that our culture and faith is glorious, intricate and nuanced. And we have to be careful that it does not get defined by trivia which takes the focus away from the real and the true. And like I have said earlier as well, that the trust between creators and audience is most important to protect and the creators should keep working towards it.&rsquo;

Speaking with ABP news, he questioned how could The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) pass the song despite alleged 'vulgarity' in the song. 'I think our film industry has gone haywire. This is a matter of vulgarity, it has nothing to do with any kind of religious problem. The censor board is no Supreme Court. They tell me very prominent people but can they not see all these attacks on the Hindu religion', he said.
He later added that the censor must not pass such films. This song could mess up the minds of the youth, not only mislead them. This is a song made for the big screen, not for the OTT.
The song has been the target of trolls and some politicians due to the use of saffron colour for Deepika's attire. Earlier, BJP minister Narottam Mishra had said that the song reflected a 'dirty mindset', and threatened that the film may be banned in Madhya Pradesh.
