Bulls at pharma, bears at banks

Even though the pharma&nbsp;pack posted a strong rally on Friday, equity benchmarks ended&nbsp;lower as the banking and financial stocks weighed down the market.
The Sensex closed the session 134 points down at 38,845 and the Nifty ended trading at 11,504, falling 0.10%.
HDFC&nbsp;Bank, Shree&nbsp;Cements, Bajaj&nbsp;Finserv, Kotak&nbsp;Mahindra&nbsp;Bank and Maruti&nbsp;were the top five index losers. On the other hand, DrReddy, Cipla, Adani&nbsp;Ports, Bharti&nbsp;Airtel and M&amp;M were the top gainers.
While the Bank Nifty closed 1.30% in the red, the Nifty Pharma&nbsp;index gained 5%.
The rupee strengthened by 21 paise to close at 73.45 against the US dollar.
