Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is set to have a new president after the incumbent Nazmul Hasan was entrusted with the responsibility of the Ministry of Youth and Sports following his win in the general elections.
Hasan, who has been at the helm of BCB since 2012, won from Kishoreganj-6 constituency in the January 7 polls and four days later he replaced Zahid Ahsan Russel in the ministry and he's likely to step down from his present post.
&ldquo;There are no problems in the law about me holding both posts (BCB president and Minister of Youth and Sports),&rdquo; Nazmul told reporters.
&ldquo;There is no relationship between getting ministry and leaving from the post of BCB because earlier there were several ministers who also fulfilled the roles. It is also there abroad and so that is not the issue.&rdquo; &ldquo;But it would be good if that is not the case (holding both the posts) because then there might be speculations of me prioritizing cricket. I want to prioritize everything (being the Minister of Sports),&rdquo; he added.
BCB's elections are due only in October, 2025 and an existing member of the governing body may take charge on interim basis in case Nazmul quits.
&ldquo;Those that are directors now (in BCB), one has to be chosen from among them. There is no opportunity for someone to come from outside,&rdquo; he said.&nbsp;

He made a reference to the Bollywood film 'Nayak', in which Shivaji Rao, played by Anil Kapoor, was challenged by the chief minister to run the state for a day and solve the problems he faced.
Shakib told the reports that if they made him the BPL CEO, it would take him one or two months to correct everything. "You have seen the movie Nayak right? If you want to do something, you can do it in one day," He added.
The 35-year-old further said that he would do the players' draft and auction on time and will also hold the BPL during a free time. "We will have all the modern technologies. There will be quality broadcast and home and away venues."

The Indian Cricket Team is set to tour Bangladesh for a bilateral series after a long gap, with their last visit being in 2015.

Team India reached Bangladesh for their next task, BCCI informed on Friday. BCCI posted a video on its Twitter where Indian stars including Captain Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Ishan Kishan, and several others could also be seen checking out of the airport.&nbsp;
India is set to face Bangladesh in 3 ODIs and 2 Tests which are scheduled to be held from December 4 to December 26. The first ODI is set to start on December 4 at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka.
This will be India's first tour of the country since 2015. India is set to miss the services of all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja as he failed to recover from his knee injury on time.
