The reshuffle comes&nbsp;at a time when the party finds itself mired in the school jobs scam following&nbsp;senior leader and minister Partha Chatterjee&rsquo;s arrest by the Enforcement Directorate.&nbsp;

The nine ministers to take oath were Babul Supriyo, Snehashis Chakraborty, Partha Bhowmick, Udayan Guha, Pradip Mazumder, Tajmul Hossain, Satyajit Barman. Birbaha Hansda and Biplab Roy Chowdhury were sworn in as Ministers with independent charges&nbsp;
On Monday, TMC chief Mamata carried out an overhaul in her party and announced a cabinet reshuffle adding four-five new faces, while a similar number of members of the present cabinet were to be utilised for party work.
The CM reportedly wanted the average age of the new cabinet to be &lsquo;younger&rsquo; which is reflected in the choice of new inductees.&nbsp;

The induction of Supriyo, the former BJP leader and Union Minister, into Mamata&rsquo;s cabinet has drawn the most attention given his roller coaster ride in politics -&nbsp; from being a popular playback singer to BJP&rsquo;s poster boy in West Bengal to joining the TMC government.&nbsp;
Supriyo, after the BJP&rsquo;s defeat in the 2021 Assembly elections, had announced that he would quit politics and also resign as Lok Sabha MP. However, on September 18, 2021, he joined the TMC in presence of Abhishek Banerjee. He was also elected as MLA from Ballygunj, which had fallen vacant after the demise of veteran TMC leader and minister Subrata Mukherjee.&nbsp;
The reshuffle comes at a time when the party finds itself mired in the school jobs scam following senior TMC leader and minister Partha Chatterjee&rsquo;s arrest by the Enforcement Directorate.

The counting is on for by-polls conducted on April 12 for one Lok Sabha and four assembly seats. In Bengal, The Trinamool Congress (TMC) marched ahead of its rivals in the Asansol Lok Sabha constituency and the Ballygunge assembly segment by-polls after six rounds of counting. TMC Babul Supriyo is ahead of CPI(M)’s Saira Shah Halim in Ballygunge, while the ruling party’s nominee Shatrughan Sinha is leading over Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Agnimitra Paul in Asansol. The Congress candidate for Chhattisgarh's Khairagarh assembly seat Yashoda Niamber Verma is leading BJP’s Komal Janghel. The Congress candidate Maharashtra's Kolhapur North Jayashree Jadhav is also leading BJP candidate Satyajit Kadam. Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate Amar Kumar Paswan won Bochahan assembly seat in Bihar, defeating nearest BJP rival Baby Kumari by margin of over 35,000 votes.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday named Shatrughan Sinha as TMC's candidate for by-poll to Asansol parliamentary seat, and Babul Supiyo as nominee for Ballygunge assembly by-election.
"Happy to announce on behalf of the All India Trinamool Congress that Sri Shatrughan Sinha, former Union Minister and famed actor, will be our candidate in Lok Sabha by-election from Asansol," the TMC boss tweeted.
"Sri Babul Supriyo, former union minister and noted singer, will be our candidate in Vidhansabha by-election from Ballygunge. Jai Hind, Jai Bangla, Jai Ma- Mati- Manush!" she wrote.
The Asansol Lok Sabha seat fell vacant after Supriyo, a two-time BJP MP, quit the saffron party last year and joined the TMC.
The Ballygunge assembly seat fell vacant following the demise of state minister Subrata Mukherjee.
