In an interview, Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays the iconic Marvels superhero, confirmed the film and his return. The film will mark the beginning of the end for Marvel&rsquo;s multiverse storyline and due to Doctor Strange&rsquo;s multiverse experience, his role will be crucial in the upcoming film.&nbsp;
<h2>Benedict Cumberbatch drops the big update&nbsp;</h2>
Marvel&rsquo;s veteran actor went on to reveal more about the film&rsquo;s shooting schedule. The film will go on the floors by 2025 and will probably hit the theatres in 2026. Temporarily titled &lsquo;Avengers 5&rsquo;, it will be the first Avengers film since &lsquo;Avengers: Endgame&rsquo;. &nbsp;
During an edition of &lsquo;Still Watching Netflix&rsquo;, Cumberbatch talked about playing the character of Doctor Strange and how he is looking forward to playing the mystic sorcerer. He said, &ldquo;I love playing him. He&rsquo;s great fun. I&rsquo;m very much looking forward to Avengers next year, which is cooking up a storm.&rdquo;&nbsp;
This is a big update coming in a long time, especially since MCU fired Jonathan Majors after his abuse conviction. While the earlier reports hinted at next Avengers film to be focused on Kang, it remains to be seen whether Marvels will recast someone to play Kang or find a new villain. &nbsp;
<h2>Why is Doctor Strange significant for next Avengers?&nbsp;</h2>
While the other cast details are still under wraps, it&rsquo;s an easy guess as to why Doctor Strange is significant for the upcoming film. In his last film, &lsquo;Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness&rsquo;, Stephen Strange gets a whip of the multiversal concept. He might play a big role in putting together the team of heroes to fight the multiversal dangers. &nbsp;
Besides Cumberbatch, reports suggest that Shawn Levy, who is at the helm of &lsquo;Deadpool and Wolverine&rsquo;, may lead the project. &nbsp;

James Cameron&rsquo;s &lsquo;Avatar: The Way of Water&rsquo; has emerged as India&rsquo;s highest-grossing Hollywood film, surpassing the lifetime business of &lsquo;Avengers Endgame&rsquo;, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. &lsquo;Avatar 2&rsquo; has a net box office collection (NBOC) of ₹368.20 crore, while &lsquo;Avengers: Endgame&rsquo; has ₹367 crore.

&lsquo;Avatar: The Way of Water&rsquo; has crossed the $1 billion mark at the global box office and is set to cross $2 billion soon. The film stars Kate Winslet, Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, and Stephen Lang.
According to Deadline, James teased fans about the next installment in the film franchise while attending the Critics Choice Awards and revealed the element of fire and two new cultures would be introduced.
