The BJP unit in Jammu &amp; Kashmir on Friday demanded the arrest of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti for her "seditious remarks" wherein she said she would only hold the national tricolour when the flag of the erstwhile state is restored. In an act seen as defiance, the flag of the erstwhile state was prominently placed on a table in front of the PDP president as she addressed reporters for the first time since her release from 14-month detention following the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019. The BJP said "no power on earth" can either hoist the state flag again or restore Article 370. J&amp;K BJP president Ravinder Raina told reporters that Governor Manoj Sinha must take cognisance of seditious remarks of Mehbooba Mufti and put her behind bars.

223 under detention in J&K, none under house arrest: Govt in LS

The government has told the Parliament that till&nbsp;September 11,&nbsp;223 people are under detention and not a single&nbsp;person is under house arrest in the Union territory of Jammu&nbsp;and Kashmir.

Union Minister of State for Home G Kishan Reddy said the government of Jammu and Kashmir has reported, that after the abrogation of Article 370 in August last year various measures were taken to maintain public order which included preventive detention of certain persons.&nbsp;
In a written reply to a question in the Lok&nbsp;Sabha, Reddy&nbsp;said, as on September 11, 223 people are under detention and not a single&nbsp;person is under house arrest in the Union territory.
Reddy also said after the bifurcation of the erstwhile state, the number of terrorist incidents have reduced significantly.&nbsp;The home ministry said as many as 176 infiltration attempts were made by terrorists between August 2019 and July 2020. Around 111 infiltration attempts were successful.

Steve Smith suffers 2nd head injury in a span of 1 year

Cricket Australia in a statement said that Smith was hit by a member of the coaching staff during throw downs on Thursday and the former captain was ruled of the opening game as a precautionary measure. Smith is&nbsp;being assessed for concussion. This is the second such injury to to the 31-year-old in a span of 1 year.&nbsp;In August 2019, Smith took a nasty blow on his head, when he&nbsp;was knocked out by a Jofra&nbsp;Archer bouncer during the Ashes. He was forced to miss the 3rd Test due to concussion.
