AAP leader Atishi on Friday launched a sharp attack on the BJP government at the Centre and in Delhi, alleging a decade-long political vendetta involving over 200 false cases against party leaders.
Her remarks came as former Delhi chief minister Manish Sisodia appeared before the ACB for questioning in an alleged graft case related to the construction of classrooms in Delhi government schools.
At a press conference, Atishi said, "In the last 10 years, BJP's ED, CBI, IT and Delhi police have filed more than 200 false cases against AAP leaders, but till date not even a single rupee has been recovered." She cited the Supreme Court's remarks calling central investigative agencies "caged parrots" during AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal's bail hearing as proof of political misuse of institutions.
AAP leader Satyendar Jain had also appeared before the agency on June 6 in connection with the same case.
Atishi accused the BJP of using diversion tactics to cover up its failures on the governance front.
"There are long power cuts across Delhi, water shortage in homes while roads remain waterlogged. But instead of solving these issues, the BJP is busy running fake cases to mislead the public," Atishi alleged.
She further charged that the BJP is colluding with the "education mafia" to shut down government schools and promote private institutions.
"They want to shut down Delhi's government schools under the guise of scams that don't exist. Headlines don't prove corruption," she said.
There was no immediate response from the BJP over the allegations.
Hitting out at Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Atishi asked, "Apart from painting mohalla clinics and renaming them health temples, what has she really given to the people of Delhi?"

The Aam Aadmi Party Tuesday claimed its leader Atishi was detained by police when she went to meet the residents of Bhoomiheen Camp in Kalkaji where a demolition is to be carried out. Police, however, denied any detention.
Eviction notices by the Delhi Development Authority have been pasted at houses in the jhuggi-jhopri camp, warning "encroachers" to leave the spot within three days, or face action.
The camp, where most residents are migrant workers, has seen demolition drives thrice in the past year -- in May and June this year and July 2023.
Despite claims of detention, a police officer said she along with others were "removed" under Section 65 of the Delhi Police Act.
Section 65 of the Delhi Police Act, 1978 states that all persons must comply with reasonable directions given by a police officer in the discharge of their duties under the Act. If someone resists, refuses, or fails to comply, the police officer can remove the person, produce them before a Metropolitan Magistrate, or release them in trivial cases, it says.
Atishi, a former Delhi chief minister, had earlier in a post on X in Hindi, said, "Tomorrow, the BJP is going to run bulldozers over the Bhoomiheen Camp. Today, the slum residents there were planning to protest, so the BJP government deployed thousands of police and CRPF personnel.
"Rekha Gupta ji: You had said that no slums would be demolished, right? Then why is such a massive police and CRPF force deployed?" Gupta had on Sunday said the authorities cannot go against demolition orders issued by the courts and stressed that the displaced residents have been provided accommodation.
The remarks came amid criticism from the opposition AAP over the razing of the Madrasi Camp slum cluster near Barapullah in south Delhi, and similar demolition drives in other parts of the city.

Addressing a press conference, and former Delhi chief minister alleged that many schools significantly raised their tuition without proper oversight, emboldened by the BJP.
"Private schools have started their loot now that there is a BJP government in Delhi. From the very first day, they began increasing fees by a substantial margin," she said.
Atishi claimed that there had been strict regulations on school fees during her party's tenure.
"For 10 years, when AAP was in government, there was a cap on fee hikes. If any discrepancy was found during audits, schools were asked to return the extra money. In fact, many former students were refunded their fees. Schools were required to seek permission from the Delhi government before raising their fees," she said.
She claimed that parents were approaching the AAP leaders in large numbers, seeking their intervention.
"Every day, we are hearing of fee hikes in different schools. Parents are contacting us, writing e-mails, and requesting us to stop this. Why? Because they know the BJP government will not help them," she said.
In a direct challenge to Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Atishi demanded that the government order an audit of private schools by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG).
"If there is no collusion between the BJP government and private schools, then stop these fee hikes. I request the government to conduct a CAG audit and allow schools to raise fees only after that," she said.

AAP leader and Delhi Assembly Leader of Opposition (LoP) Atishi, has termed the suspension of 21 Aam Aadmi Party MLAs as an attack on democracy and urged Speaker Vijender Gupta to ensure fairness and protect democratic values.&nbsp;
In a letter to the Speaker on Friday, she called the action unjust and a severe blow to democratic principles.
"I am writing this letter with great pain and sorrow. The biggest strength of democracy is its fairness and equality. But whatever happened in the Delhi Assembly in the past few days is not only an injustice to the opposition MLAs but also a severe blow to democratic values," Atishi stated in her letter.
She alleged that "no action" was taken against any MLA from the ruling party. "On 25 February 2025, during the address of Lt Governor, MLAs of the ruling party raised slogans of 'Modi-Modi,' while the opposition MLAs raised slogans of 'Jai Bhim,' respecting the views of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. It is very unfortunate that no action was taken against any MLA of the ruling party, but 21 MLAs of the opposition were suspended from the House for 3 days for raising the slogan 'Jai Bhim'," she added.
Atishi further claimed that the "injustice did not stop" there. She stated that when the suspended MLAs attempted to protest peacefully in front of Mahatma Gandhi&rsquo;s statue within the assembly premises, they were stopped 200 meters before the gate and "were prevented from entering the assembly premises."
She described the incident as an "insult" not only to the MLAs but also to the people's mandate. "You are the guardian of this assembly. It is the duty of the guardian to do equal justice to all the MLAs, whether they are from the ruling party or the opposition. I urge you to protect the democratic values and ensure that no MLA is deprived of his constitutional rights," Atishi wrote.
The controversy erupted on February 25 when tensions flared in the Delhi Assembly. Speaker Vijender Gupta suspended AAP MLAs, including Atishi and Gopal Rai, amid an uproar before the tabling of the CAG report.

The AAP MLA from Kalkaji explained to IANS that the Opposition MLAs were not staging a sit-in voluntarily but were forced to squat as the security staff refused to let them enter the premises.
When the suspended MLAs requested a copy of the Speaker's order banning their entry, the security staff could not provide any documentation to substantiate the decision.
The Speaker initially suspended the AAP MLAs for three sittings on Tuesday, but the suspension was extended to the entire session, with the Assembly secretariat suggesting it could last until March 3.
Atishi voiced concerns over the BJP's fear of the name of Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar, recalling that the suspension followed AAP MLAs' objections to the alleged removal of Ambedkar and Shaheed Bhagat Singh's photos from Chief Minister Rekha Gupta&rsquo;s office.
BJP officials, including Delhi Minister Parvesh Verma, defended the suspension, stating that AAP MLAs&rsquo; disruptive behavior during the address by Delhi L-G V. K. Saxena was a breach of parliamentary practices.
Verma added that AAP MLAs had done nothing constructive in the past decade. BJP MLA Kailash Gahlot pointed out that suspensions were common and referred to a previous incident involving BJP MLA O.P. Sharma.

Calling the move "unprecedented," Atishi questioned the Speaker&rsquo;s decision to bar elected representatives from entering the Assembly complex.&nbsp;
"They are saying that the Speaker has ordered that your MLA should be stopped at the gate of Delhi Vidhan Sabha. They have been removed for a three-day sitting as per the orders. But never in the history of the Delhi Vidhan Sabha, or even the Parliament of the country, has an elected representative been denied entry in such a manner," she said.

She further criticized the deployment of police to enforce the restriction. "If an MLA is suspended, their entry into the House is restricted. However, stopping them 50 meters away from the gate using police barricades is unheard of in the history of any legislative body in the country," she remarked. Despite the suspension, she asserted that AAP would continue to fight back.
Meanwhile, BJP leaders defended the Speaker&rsquo;s decision. BJP MLA Satish Upadhyay stated, "The House will run by law. If they (the opposition) create ruckus and anarchy there (in the House), then the Speaker will take a decision. The decision taken by the Speaker is final." MLA Ravindra Singh Negi accused AAP of disregarding constitutional norms, saying, "You (opposition) are roaming around with the picture of Baba Saheb Ambedkar, but you should follow the Constitution as told by him... She cited examples from other legislative bodies to argue against the move. "If you see Delhi Legislative Assembly, Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly, elected legislators are never stopped. Even when suspended in Parliament, an elected parliamentarian is never stopped. Therefore, protests often take place in Parliament even after being suspended under the Gandhi statue. Often even in the Delhi Legislative Assembly, when the Bharatiya Janata Party was in opposition, they used to protest under the statue of Gandhi ji under the statue of Ambedkar."
Reaffirming her stance, she added, "We are suspended from the House. Being suspended from the House does not mean that we are suspended from the Assembly premises. We are elected legislators. We have the right to go to the Assembly premises. How are we being prevented from going to the Assembly premises?"
The situation remains tense as AAP continues to protest against the suspension and entry restrictions, accusing the BJP-led government of undermining democratic principles.

She alleged that the BJP dispensation had removed Ambedkar's portraits from the chief minister's office in both the Delhi Secretariat and the assembly.
The suspended AAP lawmakers later held a protest on the assembly premises with Ambedkar portraits, raising "Babasaheb ka ye apmaan nahi sahega Hindustan (India will not tolerate this insult to Babasaheb)" and "Jai Bhim" slogans.&nbsp;

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured a historic victory in the Delhi Assembly elections on Saturday, reclaiming power in the national capital after 27 years.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) faced a major defeat, with several key leaders, including former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, losing in their strongholds.
This win further strengthens the BJP&rsquo;s hold on national politics, following its recent electoral successes in Maharashtra and Haryana.
The Congress, which had hoped for a revival in Delhi, failed to secure a single seat once again, marking its third consecutive zero tally in the assembly elections. The party had previously ruled Delhi for 15 years, from 1998 to 2013.
BJP won 48 out of 70 seats, while AAP secured 22 seats.

Sisodia lost in Jangpura to BJP&rsquo;s Tarvinder Singh Marwah by a narrow margin of 675 votes. Conceding defeat, he expressed hope that the winning candidate would serve the constituency well.
Among other winners, Gopal Rai secured the Babarpur seat, defeating BJP&rsquo;s Anil Kumar Vashisht by 18,994 votes. Kailash Gahlot, who had switched from AAP to BJP before the elections, won from Bijwasan, defeating AAP&rsquo;s Surender Bhardwaj.
Several BJP leaders also emerged victorious, including Vijender Gupta from Rohini, Kapil Mishra from Karawal Nagar, and Ravinder Singh Negi from Patparganj.

The BJP dismissed AAP&rsquo;s claims as defamatory and an attempt to tarnish its image before the results.
Lt Governor Saxena emphasized the need for an inquiry and instructed authorities to examine the allegations.
In a social media post, AAP chief and former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal asserted that 16 AAP candidates had received offers from the BJP. He alleged that they were promised ministerial positions and Rs 15 crore each if they defected.

"Some agencies are showing that the abusive party (BJP) is getting more than 55 seats. In the last two hours, 16 of our candidates have received calls that if they leave AAP and join their party, they will be made ministers and given Rs 15 crore each," Mr. Kejriwal wrote in Hindi.
He also cast doubt on the exit polls predicting a BJP victory.
"If they are indeed winning more than 55 seats, why are they calling up our candidates? These fake surveys are a conspiracy to create an atmosphere to break AAP candidates. But not a single one of them will switch sides," he added.
Delhi Chief Minister and AAP candidate from Kalkaji, Atishi, also spoke out against the alleged attempts to poach candidates, questioning the BJP&rsquo;s confidence.
"If the abusive party (BJP) is getting more than 50 seats, then why are they trying to break our candidates by contacting them?" she posted on X.

Atishi further claimed that exit polls predicting a BJP win were manipulated to "demoralise AAP candidates and create an atmosphere where defections could be encouraged."
Following a complaint by the BJP against AAP&rsquo;s allegations, Lt Governor Saxena ordered an investigation.

"The Lieutenant Governor has desired that this matter merits a thorough investigation through the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) to establish the truth in the matter," a statement from VK Saxena&rsquo;s office read.
Polling for all 70 Assembly seats in Delhi concluded on Wednesday. As vote counting approaches on Saturday, the results will determine whether AAP secures a third consecutive term or if BJP ends its 27-year wait to govern the capital.

In his post on X, Kejriwal said, "In response to a complaint about the growing hooliganism, the Election Commission has filed a police case against the Chief Minister of Delhi. So now, the official stance of the Delhi Police and the Election Commission is - The 'work' of the Delhi Police and the Election Commission is to engage in hooliganism against the Aam Aadmi Party, provide protection to the BJP's hooliganism, and distribute liquor, money, and goods."&nbsp;
He further stated, "If anyone tries to stop them from doing this 'work,' a case will be filed against that person for obstructing the 'work' of the police and the Election Commission."
Atishi, in her response to the case, pointed out the lack of action against BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri, whose family members were reportedly involved in violations of the MCC.&nbsp;
She raised concerns about the ECI's actions, asking how far they would go in undermining the electoral process.&nbsp;

"The Election Commission is also amazing! Ramesh Bidhuri ji's family members are openly violating the code of conduct. No action is being taken against them. The DCP South East Delhi, in a post on X, reported that Atishi was found violating the MCC on February 4 at 12:30 AM along with 50-70 people and 10 vehicles at Fateh Singh Marg.&nbsp;
The police instructed them to vacate the area, and a case was filed following a complaint by the Flying Squad Team (FST), under sections of the Representation of the People Act.
In another update, the DCP South East Delhi mentioned that AAP members Ashmit and Sagar Mehta had obstructed and assaulted a Head Constable who was documenting the gathering at Baba Fateh Singh Marg, Govindpuri.&nbsp;
The police officer, HC Kaushal Pal, was responding to the situation and began recording video when the altercation occurred. The DCP confirmed that an FIR has been registered under sections related to obstruction of public duty and assault while on duty, with further investigations ongoing.

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi has written to the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) requesting immediate intervention regarding the rising ammonia levels in the Yamuna River, which she claims are impacting Delhi's water supply.
In her letter, CM Atishi pointed out that the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) water treatment plants are only designed to handle ammonia levels up to 1 ppm. She alleged that "the ammonia levels have steadily increased in the water coming from Haryana to Delhi via River Yamuna due to mixing of untreated sewage or industrial waste from Haryana, with levels rising over 7 ppm in the last two days, i.e., 700% beyond the treatable limit."

She further highlighted the serious consequences of these rising ammonia levels, stating, "These toxic levels of ammonia in water coming from Haryana have rendered Delhi's water treatment plants almost incapable of treating the water effectively, resulting in curtailment of water supply by 15 to 20% i.e. for approximately 34 lakhs people of Delhi. It is a known fact that high ammonia levels in drinking water can lead to a public health crisis causing ailments such as kidney damage, respiratory distress, and even long-term organ damage."
Atishi described the situation as "an act of water terrorism" and accused the Haryana government of intentionally disrupting Delhi's water supply to influence the upcoming elections.&nbsp;

She said, "Despite knowing the toxic effects of releasing ammonia in raw water supply, the note of CEO of Delhi Jal Board leaves no doubt that it is due to the indiscriminate and deliberate dumping of untreated sewage and industrial waste from Haryana that is causing the present water supply crisis in Delhi. This is not an act of negligence; it is an act of water terrorism to deliberately impact the conduct of free and fair elections in Delhi."

Earlier, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini criticized the AAP&rsquo;s allegations, stating that the AAP had failed to manage water distribution and was attempting to blame others.&nbsp;
He remarked, "It is his (Arvind Kejriwal) nature and thinking to allege and then run away. There's a saying, 'thooko aur bhago (spit and run)'. This is what Kejriwal does. I said that you send your chief secretary and I will ask my chief secretary to check the quality of water at Sonipat from where it (Yamuna) is entering Delhi," Saini said.

Singh also raised concerns about the Election Commission's lack of action, saying, "All this is happening under the nose of the Election Commission. We asked for time from the Election Commission. It has been 3 days but we have not been given time yet. If someone complains, no action is being taken on it. Initially, action was taken on a few complaints. But now, there is nothing... Earlier in the day, Delhi Chief Minister and AAP leader Atishi wrote to the Election Officer of Delhi, alleging that the Delhi Police was trying to dismiss a complaint against BJP workers who reportedly intimidated AAP volunteers on January 21 and 22.
In her letter, Atishi demanded the transfer of police officials involved, accusing them of pressuring AAP workers into signing false statements claiming no violence or intimidation occurred. "I made a complaint regarding the intimidation of AAP volunteers by BJP workers yesterday (21.01.2025) and today (22.01.2025). Both complaints are enclosed. On 21.01.2025, I received a notice u/s 94 BNSS from SHO Govindpuri regarding the complaint made on 21.01.2025 (enclosed)," Atishi wrote.
She further claimed that police officers, including SHO Dharamveer, Inspector Sushil Sharma, and Constable Jai Bhagwan, were contacting AAP volunteers under the guise of recording their statements. "The Investigating Officer -- Sh Jai Bhagwan and Sh. Sushil Sharma met Vijeta, Rekha Bassi, and Deepa Deol -- who are volunteers of the Aam Aadmi Party and dictated statements to them where it was stated that no violence or intimidation took place. They then pressurized the aforementioned persons to sign those statements," the letter stated. Atishi also alleged that when volunteers objected to signing false statements, the police tore the documents. She has called for the transfer of the officers involved, citing possible collusion with the BJP.

In her letter, Atishi explained that she had filed complaints regarding the intimidation on January 21 and 22. She attached both complaints to her letter, highlighting that on January 21, she received a notice under Section 94 BNSS from the SHO of Govindpuri concerning her complaint.&nbsp;

However, instead of investigating, she claims that police officers began pressuring AAP volunteers to retract their statements.

These officers allegedly met with volunteers such as Vijeta, Rekha Bassi, and Deepa Deol, dictated false statements to them, and then pressured them to sign," the letter said.
The Chief Minister also highlighted that her volunteers were willing to give statements in the presence of their legal representatives, but they were being forced to sign incomplete and false documents.&nbsp;
When the volunteers refused, the police allegedly tore up their objections. Atishi expressed concerns over the collusion of the local police officers and called for their immediate transfer, specifically requesting that SHO Dharamveer, Inspector Sushil Sharma, and Constable Jai Bhagwan be reassigned out of the area.
Earlier this week, Atishi had also called for the deployment of paramilitary forces in Kalkaji to ensure the safety of voters and party workers as the Delhi Assembly elections draw near. The elections are set for February 5, with the vote counting scheduled for February 8, amid escalating tensions between the AAP and BJP.

This is not the first time Bidhuri has made contentious remarks about his political opponent. Earlier, he sparked outrage by questioning Atishi&rsquo;s identity and accusing her of altering her background. Speaking at another rally, Bidhuri said, "Atishi, who was Marlena, is now Singh. She has even changed her father. This Marlena became Singh. She changed her name. Arvind Kejriwal swore on his children not to align with the corrupt Congress. Marlena changed her father. This reflects the character of the Aam Aadmi Party."
AAP has yet to formally respond to the latest remarks, but the party chief Arvind Kejriwal strongly condemned the earlier comments, calling them an insult to women. "BJP leaders have crossed all limits of shamelessness. BJP leaders are abusing Delhi Chief Minister Atishi ji. The people of Delhi will not tolerate the insult of a woman Chief Minister. All the women of Delhi will take revenge for this," Kejriwal stated in a Hindi post.
The high-stakes Kalkaji Assembly race pits Bidhuri against AAP&rsquo;s Atishi and Congress&rsquo;s Alka Lamba. The elections for the 70-seat Delhi Assembly are scheduled for February 5, with vote counting set for February 8.

 In the 2020 Assembly elections, Atishi secured the Kalkaji seat by defeating BJP's Dharambir Singh with a margin of over 10 percent.

Addressing the FIR filed against her over alleged Model Code of Conduct violations, Atishi criticized the Election Commission&rsquo;s lack of action on BJP candidate Parvesh Verma&rsquo;s conduct. &ldquo;The whole country saw that Parvesh Verma was distributing money. Women came on TV and said that they were given Rs 1100 to press the lotus button. After that, he tweeted saying that he was distributing glasses in a health camp. Then he was distributing sheets and bedspreads with his name in Kidwai Nagar. The Election Commission does not see any violation of the Model Code of Conduct in this,&rdquo; Atishi said.
She added, &ldquo;We went to the Election Commission multiple times, and they assured us that the election would be fair. Investigations are still ongoing against Parvesh Verma, while an FIR has already been filed against me without any investigation.&rdquo;
Earlier this week, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal participated in a roadshow with former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia. At 43, Atishi became Delhi's third woman Chief Minister, following the footsteps of Sushma Swaraj and Sheila Dikshit. On September 17, 2024, Kejriwal resigned as Chief Minister and submitted his resignation to Delhi's Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena. Atishi claimed the right to form the new government soon after, following Kejriwal&rsquo;s release from Tihar jail in the excise policy case. Kejriwal stated he would return to the Chief Minister's post only if he secured a renewed mandate and received a "certificate of honesty" from the people of Delhi in the February 2025 elections.
Atishi was sworn in as Chief Minister of Delhi on September 22 after being nominated by Arvind Kejriwal. The Delhi Assembly elections will take place in a single phase on February 5, with the vote count scheduled for February 8.

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi could not file her nomination from the Kalkaji Assembly constituency on Monday, an AAP leader said. &nbsp; Accompanied by senior party leader Manish Sisodia, the chief minister held a roadshow after paying obeisance at a gurudwara in Giri Nagar and then proceeded towards the office of the district election officer to file her nomination. &nbsp; However, as the roadshow got her delayed, she went to the Election Commission office to join AAP leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal, for a meeting with officials at 3 pm without filing the nomination papers. &nbsp; Nominations for the assembly elections can be filed every day until 3 pm. Atishi is now scheduled to file her papers on Tuesday. &nbsp; Before commencing her rally, Atishi, accompanied by AAP leader Manish Sisodia, visited Gurudwara Shri Guru Gobind Sahib in Giri Nagar. Earlier in the day, she offered prayers at the Kalkaji Temple, dedicated to Maa Kali, seeking blessings for her campaign.
"Before filing my nomination today, I came to seek the blessings of Maa Kali at the Kalkaji Temple. I believe Maa Kalka's blessings will always remain with me, the Aam Aadmi Party, and the people of the Kalkaji constituency," she told reporters.
Reflecting on her work in the area, Atishi said she has , "I have worked tirelessly in my constituency for the last five years. The people of Kalkaji are my family, they see me as their daughter and their sister. I am not just a representative, I am a part of their lives." &nbsp; Taking a jibe at the BJP, she accused the party of being anti-poor. She said the BJP is a 'jhuggi virodhi' and 'gareeb virodhi' party and added that the AAP is committed to uplifting the marginalised communities.
Atishi is set to face a stiff challenge in the constituency from BJP's Ramesh Singh Bidhuri, a seasoned politician and her main opponent in the constituency.
Bidhuri, a former MP from South Delhi and a three-time MLA from Tughlakabad, is known for his strong political record, winning elections in 2003, 2008, and 2013.
The Congress has also entered the fray with Alka Lamba, National President of Mahila Congress.
Lamba, who was with the Congress from 1994 to 2014 before briefly joining the Aam Aadmi Party, has now returned to her former party, vying a comeback in this high-stakes election.
The Delhi assembly election is scheduled to be held on February 5, with the results to be declared on February 8.

The BJP has accused AAP leaders Sanjay Singh and Saurabh Bharadwaj of diverting attention from the ongoing "Sheesh Mahal" corruption allegations.

The BJP on Wednesday accused the AAP leaders of diverting attention from the "corruption and irregularities" surrounding the "Sheesh Mahal", and enacting drama of a visit to the bungalow while the model code of conduct was implemented for the upcoming Assembly polls.
"Why did AAP leaders Sanjay Singh and Saurabh Bharadwaj not visit the Sheesh Mahal earlier?", questioned Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva after they were stopped by the police from visiting the bungalow in Civil Lines, earlier in the day.
Singh on Sunday challenged the BJP for a visit to "Sheesh Mahal" and the Prime Minister's residence dubbing it "Raj Mahal" along with media persons.
Sachdeva charged, "The AAP leaders are doing drama and trying to divert attention from the Sheesh corruption and irregularities committed in the construction of Sheesh Mahal (6, Flagstaff Road, occupied by Arvind Kejriwal as chief minister). Why did they not think of showing the Sheesh Mahal earlier and now insist on a visit when the administration is bound by a model code of conduct?"
The Delhi BJP president visited AB 17 Mathura Road bungalow allotted to Delhi Chief Minister Atishi. He asked, "Why is Atishi demanding another bungalow when she was allotted this bungalow?"
Atishi on Tuesday alleged that the BJP-led Centre evicted her from the chief minister's bungalow by cancelling allotment.
According to the department, Atishi failed to take possession of the property within the mandated time frame.
"The allottee had failed to take physical possession/occupation of the bungalow at 6, Flag Staff Road, despite multiple requests/correspondences and even after issuance of 'Habitability Certificate' for the bungalow, certifying that the bungalow was fit for immediate occupation and fully habitable. However, in this case, possession was not taken even after three months," the PWD letter stated.
The PWD has, meanwhile, offered two other bungalows to the chief minister.
Sachdeva said, "Atishi should tell the people why did not she take possession of the Flagstaff Road bungalow within three months, and now claiming that her allotment was cancelled".
He also alleged that Atishi herself did not live at AB 17 Mathura Road bungalow and asked her to clarify who lived there.
"It is the same bungalow where Sheila Dikshit lived as Delhi's chief minister from 1998 to 2004. Why can Atishi not live in it?" he questioned.
Sachdeva alleged that the AAP leaders were indulging in "petty politics" by raising questions over the PM's residence, to divert attention from the notoriety gained by the "Sheesh Mahal".
