The 24-year-old achieved a second career-best effort of 8.37m, meeting the Olympic qualification mark with his final round jump. The qualification period for the Paris Games began on July 1, and Sreeshankar's impressive performance guarantees his participation in the prestigious event.
Chinese Taipei's Yu Tang Lin emerged as the gold medalist with a remarkable fourth-round jump of 8.40m, which ranks as the third-best effort in the world this season.
Sreeshankar, on the other hand, has already secured his spot in the Budapest World Championships in August with his career-best jump of 8.41m, which is currently the second-ranked jump worldwide, achieved during the qualification round of the National Inter-State Championships last month.

Toor, who holds the Asian record, launched the iron ball to a distance of 20.23m during his second attempt. Unfortunately, he limped out of the event, clutching his groin, signaling the end of his participation.
The silver medal in the shot put event went to Saberi Mehdi of Iran, who recorded a throw of 19.98m, while Ivan Ivanov of Kazakhstan secured the bronze with a throw of 19.87m.
With this triumph, the 28-year-old Toor joins the elite group of shot putters who have successfully defended their Asian Championships titles. Previously, Qatari athlete Bilal Saad Mubarak achieved this feat twice, winning consecutive titles in 1995 and 1998, as well as in 2002 and 2003. Additionally, Mohd Gharib Al Zinkawi of Kuwait secured the title three times in a row during 1979, 1981, and 1983.
The extent of Toor's injury remains uncertain, raising concerns as the World Championships in Budapest are scheduled to begin in just over a month, from August 17 to 27. Toor had qualified for the World Championships with his impressive new Asian record throw of 21.77m during the National Inter-State Championships in Bhubaneswar last month.
Unfortunately, Toor's recent injury setback adds to his previous challenges. He missed the 2022 World Championships due to a groin strain that occurred just before the event, which also led to his withdrawal from the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. Furthermore, Toor underwent surgery on his left wrist, which is his throwing arm, shortly after the Tokyo Olympics.

Bangkok, Jul 13 (PTI) India scooped three gold medals on the second day of Asian Athletics Championships with woman 100m hurdler Jyothi Yarraji clinching her maiden top finish in a major international event and Ajay Kumar Saroj running a brilliant race to win the men's 1500m title here on Thursday.
Commonwealth Games silver medallist Abdulla Aboobacker grabbed India's third gold of the day by winning the men's triple jump event.
It was an impressive show by the Indians as they won three gold out of 10 on offer on Thursday. Aishwarya Mishra (53.07 seconds) was the other medal winning Indian on the day, with a bronze in women's 400m final.
The 23-year-old Yarraji opened India's gold medal as she clocked 13.09 seconds to win the 100m hurdles final race ahead of two Japanese runners Terada Asuka (13.13s) and Aoki Masumi (13.26s) on a rain-drenched track at the Supachalasai Stadium.
Yarraji's national record stands at 12.82 seconds. She had won gold in the National Inter-State Championships last month in 12.92 seconds but the wet track, after rain lashed the stadium, was not ideal for fast time.
In the men's 1500m, the 26-year-old Saroj ran a brilliantly executed race as he came out of nowhere in the final bend to go past two opponents and win the gold. He clocked 3:41.51 seconds, two and half seconds outside his personal best of 3:39.19 which he had recorded last month in an event in USA.
It was the third medal on the trot and second gold for Saroj, who had trained in the USA in May, in the Asian Athletics Championships.
Ajay Kumar Saroj had won gold in the 2017 edition in Bhubaneswar and silver in 2019 in Doha.
For Aboobacker, it was his season's best effort of 16.92m that fetched him the gold, ahead of Ikehata Hikaru (16.73m) of Japan and Jangwoo Kim (16.59m) of Korea.
The 27-year-old began with a foul but cleared 16.92m in his fourth attempt for the gold.
On Wednesday, Abhishek Pal had opened India's medal account with a bronze in men's 10,000m race.
