Ashneer Grover appeared on comedian and &lsquo;Comicstaan 3&rsquo; winner Aashish Solanki's 'Pretty Good Roast Show.' A viral clip from the show featured Solanki roasting Grover about his removal as managing director of BharatPe.
&lsquo;TV pe log talent dikhane jaat hai, ye aukat dikha ke aa gaya. Samajh gaye kiski baat kar raha hoon main? Apni company se kaun nikala jata hai yaar (People show their talent on TV, he showed everyone his status. Which entrepreneur gets kicked out of their own company?)&rsquo; Solanki said.
The mention was about BharatPe removing Ashneer Grover as managing director in 2022 due to alleged embezzlement of funds by his family members. The case is now in court.
The joke seemed to have upset Grover, and Solanki claimed that the entrepreneur requested him to remove his segment from the episode as he found the roast offensive.
In a recent post on X and Instagram, Solanki explained that the full episode was taken down from YouTube because he lacked the &lsquo;money to fight a legal battle.&rsquo;
&lsquo;Ep 5 of Pretty Good Roast hata diya hai doston. Legal battle ladne ka paisa nahi hai. Sab show pe laga diya tha (The episode has been removed as I don't have money to fight a legal battle. I used up all of my money for this show),&rsquo; he tweeted.
&lsquo;The response of previous episodes led us to believe our audiences were ready for roast humour. However, it seems that some, especially those in power, are not quite there yet,&rsquo; he further said.
Although the video has been removed from YouTube and Solanki's Instagram page, it remains widely available, sparking outrage against the former Shark Tank judge.
A user commented, &lsquo;Made Ashish delete the whole video. Peak Doglapan (hypocrite),&rsquo; referring to the word made famous by Grover during an episode of &lsquo;Shark Tank&rsquo;.
Another tweeted, &lsquo;Why did he even attend a freaking roast show if he can't handle the roasting!!&rsquo; A third called him &lsquo;the Rakhi Sawant of startup world&rsquo;.
Another entrepreneur slammed Grover for appearing on the show if he couldn't handle jokes about himself.

BharatPe's cofounder Ashneer Grover is all set to launch a new fintech application called &lsquo;ZeroPe&rsquo; with an aim to provide hassle-free medical loans. At present, the app which is developed by Third Unicorn is in Test Mode.

After exiting from BharatPe Ashneer Grover and his wife Madhuri Jain Grover started Third Unicorn in partnership with Chandigarh-based entrepreneur Aseem Ghavri. Third Uniocorn's most recent launch was a fantasy gaming platform &lsquo;CrickPe&rsquo; in 2023.
ZeroPe is now joining the club of companies including SaveIn, Qube Health, Arogya Finance, Neodocs, Fibe, Kenko, and Mykare Health in providing quick financing options for medical bills and other elective procedures.
ZeroPe will offer instant pre-approved medical loans of upto Rs 5 lakh to cover the medical expenses in collaboration with Delhi-based Non-Banking Finance Company (NBC) Mukut Finvest. As per the Company's website, the service can only be availed at partnered hospitals and medical centres.
Along with this, the fintech will help customers to monitor their upcoming EMIs and payments.

<li>The company will then approve the loan amount on behalf of the user to the chosen hospital</li>

Embattled BharatPe co-founder Ashneer Grover and his family are facing deeper scrutiny as an Economic Offences Wing investigation has revealed fresh details regarding alleged fraudulent activities. According to a preliminary report, the initial invoices of five companies associated with Grover's family purportedly diverted funds from the fintech unicorn under the guise of recruitment services. These invoices contained bank account numbers that were created after their purported issue dates.
The investigation unearthed that these dubious invoices, submitted by vendors to the investigating agency, were generated after the establishment of bank accounts for these firms. It strongly suggests that these entities were set up solely to facilitate fund diversion and illegitimate gains for the implicated individuals.
The report submitted to the Delhi High Court indicated that the registered addresses of these eight HR firms were linked to family members or relatives of Grover's kin, including Madhuri Jain (Grover's wife), Suresh Jain (Madhuri Jain's father), and Shwetank Jain (Madhuri Jain's brother). Approximately ₹7.60 crore were allegedly credited to these firms, primarily from the complainant company, RIPL.
BharatPe previously filed a criminal complaint with the EoW, encompassing charges such as embezzlement, forgery, and criminal breach of trust. If proven guilty, the accused individuals could face imprisonment for up to ten years.
This revelation further complicates the ongoing legal battle between BharatPe and the Grovers. The fintech company has filed a civil suit demanding over ₹88 crore in damages, alleging misappropriation of funds, fake invoicing, and personal use of company resources by the accused parties.
Amidst these allegations, earlier controversies involving Grover's alleged misconduct and his resignation as BharatPe's Managing Director in response to inappropriate language usage and threats towards a Kotak Group employee have exacerbated the company's tumultuous journey.

Upping the ante, fintech unicorn BharatPe has filed an arbitration for clawing back it's former MD and co-founder Ashneer Grover's restricted shareholding and founder title, sources said.
The arbitration was filed on Thursday under Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) rules, sources with direct knowledge of the matter said.
If relief is granted, Grover may lose his unvested shares and right to use the founder title.
Grover, who BharatPe has accused of cheating and embezzlement of funds, holds about 8.5 per cent of the company. Of this, 1.4 per cent is not vested.
The company did not immediately offer any comment.
The action follows a detailed corporate governance review by the company's board into allegations of lapses and misdoings during the tenure of Grover as managing director.
The arbitration proceedings were initiated after Grover refused to comply with the shareholders' agreement, sources said without elaborating.
This is BharatPe's third legal action against Grover after a civil suit at the Delhi High Court and criminal complaint with the Economic Offences Wing.
BharatPe, in the suit running into 2,800 pages, alleged that Grover, his wife Madhuri Jain and other family members created fake bills, enlisted fictitious vendors to provide services to the company, and overcharged the firm for recruitment. It is seeking up to Rs 88.67 crore in damages.
The corporate governance review by Alvarez and Marsal, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas and PwC led to the ouster of Jain, and Grover resigning from the company and its board in March.
Sources said the company had earlier sent a legal notice for clawback and has now initiated arbitration proceedings. Under the shareholder's agreement, clawback of unvested shares can be triggered.
