Delhi Police issues traffic advisory for IPL match at Arun Jaitley Stadium. Expect congestion from 5:30 PM to midnight.

Delhi Police on Monday issued a traffic advisory ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals, scheduled to be held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Tuesday.
According to the advisory, heavy traffic congestion is expected in the area from 5:30 pm to midnight due to an expected large footfall of spectators. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 pm.
Vehicular movement will be restricted on Bahadurshah Zafar Marg, Jawaharlal Nehru Marg, and Asaf Ali Road during this time. No heavy vehicles or buses will be allowed from Daryaganj to Bahadurshah Zafar Marg and from Guru Nanak Chowk to Asaf Ali Road, the advisory read.
Commuters have been advised to avoid roads such as Rajghat to Kamla Market on JLN Marg, Turkman Gate to Delhi Gate on Asaf Ali Road, and the stretch from Delhi Gate to Ramcharan Aggarwal Chowk on BSZ Marg, it added.
Entry to the stadium will be permitted through designated gates on Bahadurshah Zafar Marg and JLN Marg, and parking will only be allowed for vehicles with valid labels.
"Free parking and park-and-ride options will be available at Rajghat Power House Road, Mata Sundari Road, and Velodrome Road, with shuttle buses running to the stadium starting two hours before the match starts and continuing till one hour after the match ends," the advisory read.
The spectators using app-based taxis have been asked to use the service lane on Ring Road between IP Flyover and Rajghat Crossing and pick-and-drop points at Maulana Azad Medical College and Rajghat Chowk, it further added.

Though security swiftly intervened, Kohli, with a heartwarming gesture, requested that the fan be treated kindly and not face any harsh punishment.
This appearance also marked Kohli&rsquo;s first Ranji match since 2012, when he played in a high-profile clash against Uttar Pradesh, alongside cricketing giants like Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Suresh Raina, and others.&nbsp;
The turnout at the stadium clearly demonstrates Kohli&rsquo;s immense influence on Indian cricket, even at the domestic level. His presence has injected new energy into the Ranji Trophy, making the Delhi-Railways clash a must-watch as he seeks redemption in the longest format.
After years of setting new benchmarks in international cricket, Kohli, at 36, returned to domestic cricket to rediscover the consistency that once made him stand out. Before the match, Kohli had a two-day practice session with his Delhi teammates, led by young Ayush Badoni.&nbsp;
The practice sessions saw him bonding with his new teammates, many of whom had grown up watching his cricketing exploits. In intense net sessions, Kohli worked on tackling issues in his Test game, focusing on spin bowling, deliveries outside his off-stump, and refining his backfoot shots, with detailed guidance from teammates and head coach Sarandeep Singh.
Kohli has been grappling with a decline in his Test performances since the start of 2020. In 39 Test matches since then, he has scored just 2,028 runs at an average of 30.72, with only three centuries and nine fifties to his name. His best score during this period is 186.&nbsp;
Kohli ended the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle with 751 runs in 14 matches and 25 innings at an average of 32.65, including two centuries and three fifties.&nbsp;
In 2023, he struggled with only 417 runs in 10 Tests, at an average of 24.52, which included one century and a fifty.
In search of the hunger and consistency that made him one of India&rsquo;s finest, Kohli&rsquo;s return to Ranji is a significant moment in Indian cricket, as few superstars have returned to their roots in such a manner.&nbsp;
His last appearance in the competition was in 2012 against Uttar Pradesh, where he scored 14 and 42 in both innings, dismissed by pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar. His Ranji journey began in the 2006/07 season, where he scored 257 runs in six matches at an average of 36.71.&nbsp;
His subsequent seasons saw steady improvement, with his best season in 2009/10, where he amassed 374 runs in three matches at an average of 93.50, including a century and two fifties.
Overall, Kohli has accumulated 1,573 runs in 23 Ranji matches at an average of 50.77, with five centuries and six fifties. Fans are eagerly awaiting his return in Delhi colors as he strives to regain his peak form in Test cricket.&nbsp;

A total of 24,000 tickets were put on sale. While 8000 tickets were distributed among the DDCA members, a section of the stands has also been reserved for families providing security for the game.
