According to the Wall Street Journal, chipmaker ARM Holdings may be sold by parent company SoftBank, to graphics chipmaker NVIDIA for over $40 billion.

According to the Wall Street Journal, chipmaker ARM Holdings may be sold by parent company SoftBank, to graphics chipmaker NVIDIA for over $40 billion. Sources say is close to finalising a deal with NVIDIA, and have reportedly been in talks for several weeks. The deal, which would be one of the largest semiconductor buyouts in history, would turn a profit for SoftBank, that acquired ARM in 2016 for $32 billion

Apple's first ARM-based Mac will run A14X processor, codenamed &lsquo;Tonga&rsquo;, and will reportedly weigh less than one kilogram. The same report also mentions a new iMac is coming next year that is also powered by Apple Silicon and a custom Apple-made GPU, codenamed &lsquo;Lifuka&rsquo;.
