An initial aerial inspection of the site suggested that there were no survivors, Russia's Interfax news agency said, citing unnamed sources in the emergency services. Its sources also said that there were difficult weather conditions in the area.
The transport prosecutor's office in the Far East reported that the site of the crash was 15 kilometres south of Tynda. The office said in an online statement that the plane attempted a second approach while trying to land when contact with it was lost.
Forty-three passengers, including five children, as well as six crew members were on board the An-24 passenger plane as it travelled from the city of Blagoveshchensk on the Russian-Chinese border to the town of Tynda, regional Gov. Vasily Orlov said.
Russia's Emergency Situations Ministry reported that 48 people were on board the flight, which was operated by Siberia-based Angara Airlines. The reason for the discrepancy was not immediately clear.
The authorities have launched a probe on the charge of flight safety violations that resulted in multiple deaths, a standard procedure in aviation accidents.

India's airspace ban on Pakistani flights, in response to reciprocal actions, impacts PIA routes and northern region connectivity.

India has closed its airspace to all aircraft owned and operated by Pakistani entities, including military planes. This move comes as a direct response to Pakistan's recent decision to ban flights owned and operated by Indian carriers from its airspace. The tit-for-tat measures have arisen in the wake of the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 people.
According to data from the International Air Transport Association's (IATA) summer schedules, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will feel substantial impacts from this airspace closure. PIA had approvals for four weekly flights from Islamabad to Kuala Lumpur, two weekly flights from Lahore to Kuala Lumpur, and two weekly flights from Lahore to Seoul&mdash;all of which are now affected.
The decision compels Pakistan-originating flights to take extensive detours for reaching destinations such as Colombo, Kuala Lumpur, and other points in South and Southeast Asia. However, PIA's primary international routes connect Pakistani cities to Middle Eastern countries including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and others, which remain unaffected by the Indian ban.
Additionally, PIA announced on April 30 the suspension of flights to Gilgit, Skardu, and other destinations in the northern territories, prompting considerable concern among residents and tourists who depend on air travel for accessing these remote regions. Gilgit and Skardu serve as critical gateways to the northern territories, which lack substantial road infrastructure. The suspension is anticipated to impact passenger mobility and the transport of goods and essential supplies, with land routes often proving unreliable due to harsh weather conditions and poor road quality.
While PIA has not provided an official reason for the suspensions, insiders suggest it is part of a broader restructuring effort by the financially beleaguered airline. Under severe financial strain, PIA is believed to be cutting back on less profitable or operationally challenging routes.
On April 30, India formally issued a Notice to Air Missions (NOTAM) stating, "Indian airspace is not available to Pakistan-registered aircraft and aircraft operated or leased by Pakistan airlines. These include military flights." This announcement comes on the heels of the tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where militants with alleged links to Pakistan brutally killed 26 tourists.
The diplomatic landscape between India and Pakistan remains tense as both nations grapple with the fallout from these recent developments.

A trainee pilot was killed when a trainer aircraft belonging to a private aviation academy crashed in a residential area in Gujarat's Amreli district on Tuesday afternoon and caught fire, a police official said.

The aircraft crash-landed into a residential area in the Giriya Road area of Amreli town at around 12:30 pm due to unknown reasons, killing the trainee pilot on the spot, said Amreli Superintendent of Police, Sanjay Kharat.
The pilot was flying solo. The aircraft had taken off from the Amreli airport, he added.
After it crashed near Shastri Nagar area, the plane caught fire and engulfed in flames, said Kharat.
"After taking off from the Amreli airport with a male trainee pilot, the trainer aircraft of an aviation academy, which operates from the airport, crashed into a residential area. The trainee pilot, who was flying solo, died in the crash while the aircraft was gutted in flames. No one else was injured in the accident," said Kharat.
He said a Delhi-based aviation academy provides pilot training from the Amreli airport.
The SP said local police have started the process to lodge a case of accidental death and investigation to find out the exact cause of the crash.
Four teams of local fire brigade rushed to Shastrinagar upon learning about the plane crash and resultant fire in the aircraft, said fire officer SC Gadhvi.
"Though the plane crashed into a residential area, no one else was injured because it first fell on a tree and then crashed into an open plot. The fire was eventually brought under control by our teams" he said.

A training aircraft belonging to a private aviation academy crashed near a village in Maharashtra's Pune district on Sunday morning, injuring a trainee pilot and an instructor on board the plane, police said.
The aircraft crashed near Gojubavi village under Baramati taluka at around 8 am, they said.
"A training aircraft, belonging to the Redbird Flight Training Academy, crashed near Gojubavi village. A trainee pilot and an instructor suffered injuries in the crash. Both have been rushed to a nearby hospital," Baramati police station's senior inspector Prabhakar More said.
"The cause of the crash is not yet known. We are conducting a probe into the incident," he said.
This is the second such incident involving the private aviation academy's aircraft in four days.
On Thursday evening, a training aircraft of the academy crashed near Kaftal village in Baramati taluka, injuring a pilot, according to the police.&nbsp;

Speaking to ANI from the crash site, district official confirmed that debris of both aircraft fell in the Pahargarh area of the district. Some debris also fell in the Bharatpur area in Rajasthan, which borders Madhya Pradesh.
"Two pilots who ejected safely have been air lifted for medical treatment", said Ankit Asthana, collector of Morena district.&nbsp;

SpiceJet's Mumbai bound aircraft B737-800 on Monday reported a deflated tyre after landing at the city airport.
Passengers were deplaned in a normal manner from the aircraft that had come from Delhi, a SpiceJet spokesperson said in a statement.
The official though did not share the number of persons on board
"On August 29, 2022, SpiceJet B737-800 aircraft operated flight SG-8701 (Delhi – Mumbai). Aircraft landed safely on runway 27," the airline said in the statement.
"On landing, after vacating runway, one tyre was found deflated. No fumes or smoke was reported," it said.
The aircraft was parked at the designated bay as advised by air traffic control, the airline said, adding,"no abnormality was felt by the captain during landing."
Owing to the high number of technical snags aviation regulator DGCA had earluer ordered SpiceJet to operate not more than 50 per cent of its flights for eight weeks to ensure "safe and reliable transport service".
