A bench consisting of Justices Vikram Nath, Sanjay Karol, and Sandeep Mehta ordered Hussain's release from jail under the jail manual timing upon the deposit of approximately 2 lakh per day (12 hours).&nbsp;
Hussain is facing charges in the murder case of Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer Ankit Sharma during the 2020 North-East Delhi riots, which led to 53 deaths and many injuries. Hussain has been named in 11 FIRs related to the riots.
Tahir Hussain is contesting the Delhi Assembly elections against BJP's Mohan Singh Bisht, an incumbent MLA from the neighboring Karawal Nagar, AAP's Adil Ahmad Khan, and Congress' Ali Mehdi, the son of former MLA Hasan Mehdi.&nbsp;
The elections will be held on February 5, with the vote counting taking place on February 8. The Congress party, which had been in power for 15 years, has faced setbacks in the last two assembly elections, failing to secure any seats.&nbsp;
Meanwhile, AAP emerged victorious in the 2020 elections, winning 62 out of 70 seats, while BJP secured only eight seats.

&nbsp;The AIMIM on Saturday announced its support to the Edappadi K Palaniswami-led AIADMK in Tamil Nadu for the April 19 Lok Sabha elections.
AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi said on 'X' that the "alliance would also continue for the Assembly elections" in Tamil Nadu, apparently referring to the 2026 state polls.
"AIADMK has refused to ally with BJP and has committed to never allying with it in the future. It has also assured that it will oppose CAA, NPR &amp; NRC. Therefore, AIMIM extends its support to AIADMK in the coming Lok Sabha elections. Our alliance will also continue for the Assembly elections," Owaisi said.
Incidentally, AIMIM had allied with TTV Dhinakaran's Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) in Tamil Nadu for the 2021 Assembly polls and contested from three seats. The AIADMK was part of the BJP-led NDA then.
AMMK is a now constituent of the BJP-led bloc in the state for the upcoming election.
Tamil Nadu has 39 Lok Sabha seats.

Owaisi told police that this was the fourth time since 2014 that his house in the Ashoka Road area of Delhi has been attacked.

Asaduddin Owaisi, chief of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen party, claimed that his house was attacked on 19 February 2023.
In his complaint to Delhi police, Owaisi said that stones were pelted at his house around 5:30 pm. Owaisi was in Jaipur at the time, but his domestic help was in the house.
The Lok Sabha MP said that some windows were damaged in the incident. Owaisi told police that this was the fourth time since 2014 that his house in the Ashoka Road area of Delhi has been attacked.
The politician said that it was concerning that this was happening in a "so-called high-security zone".

The chief of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen party on 11 January 2023 asked, "Who is Mohan (Bhagwat) to give Muslims 'permission' to live in India or follow our faith?"

AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday targeted the Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP with a "chhota recharge" jibe, while alleging that the Delhi chief minister defamed Muslims and "wants to break all records of Narendra Modi".
Campaigning for All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) candidates in Delhi's Seelampur ahead of the civic body polls, he alleged that Kejriwal disappeared at the time of riots in the national capital and spoke against those who protested against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act at Shaheen Bagh.
The AIMIM has fielded 16 candidates in the December 4 MCD polls.
"When people were reeling under COVID-19, struggling for oxygen and hospital beds, the Delhi chief minister spewed venom and said coronavirus was spreading because of Tablighi Jammat. He defamed Tablighi Jamaat.
"The lists of Covid cases in Delhi had a column mentioning Tablighi Jamaat members as super-spreaders. The entire country started doubting Muslims. The hatred increased and many people were attacked. The Delhi CM is responsible for this," the AIMIM chief said. &nbsp;Owaisi alleged the Delhi chief minister said he would have removed the (anti-CAA) protesters at Shaheen Bagh in half an hour.

"The Delhi chief minister got an FIR registered against Tablighi Jamaat, but not against this person. This is his true face... He is the Narendra Modi of 2013 and wants to break all his records." "Houses were burnt and people were killed (in 2020 riots). The Delhi chief minister could not be seen anywhere," Owaisi said.
The AIMIM chief said it is not his party that helps the BJP win but the AAP and the Congress. "They say the BJP is gaining because of Owaisi. It's not me but them who help the BJP win. These parties are not powerful enough to stop the BJP," he said. &nbsp; Owaisi asked the Muslim community to build a leadership of their own by voting for AIMIM candidates. &nbsp;"You voted for the Congress but it could not stop the BJP. You voted for the AAP, but still the BJP won. The value of your vote will increase if you press the button against the kite (AIMIM's symbol)... AIMIM claims stones pelted at Vande Bharat train in which Owaisi was travelling

Police, however, denied the claim and said a probe was on into the incident which took place on Monday.

AIMIM national spokesperson Waris Pathan said the incident took place before the train reached Surat on Monday evening where Owaisi, the Lok Sabha member from Hyderabad, was scheduled to attend a public rally as part of his election campaigning in the state, where the Assembly polls are scheduled on December 1 and 5.
Pathan also said he has some photographs to prove his claim.
"Asaduddin Owaisi Saheb, Sabir Kabliwala sir, me and the team of AIMIM were traveling in the Vande Bharat Express train from Ahmedabad to Surat when some unidentified persons pelted stones at the train and broke its glass," he claimed.
However, Superintendent of Police, Western Railway, Rajesh Parmar on Tuesday said some "grit" hit the train's glass window due to engineering work underway on the track near Ankleshwar in Bharuch district where the alleged incident took place.
"It was not a case of stone-pelting," the official said, adding that Owaisi was sitting away from the window.
The cracked window was changed, and an officer of the level of deputy superintendent of police (DySP) was conducting a probe into the incident, he said.
At the rally in Surat on Monday night, Pathan claimed two stones were thrown one after the other. The stones were heavy enough to break the glass window glass where Owaisi was sitting along with his team members, he said.
"(Prime Minister) Modiji, what is happening? Sometimes animals are run over by the Vande Bharat. When we were 22-25 km away from Surat, I can say this on the basis of a display put in the train, a stone hit?? the train window. Owaisi was sitting there when the stone cracked the window glass," the AIMIM leader said addressing the gathering.
"It was a heavy stone that cracked the window glass. In another 10-15 seconds, another stone landed. Do whatever, throw a stone, spray fire, but the voice of right will not stop," he said, adding that he has the proof of the incident in the form of photographs.
Pathan also shared on his Twitter handle the photographs of the broken glass window and Owaisi and other members of the AIMIM sitting in the train.

However, SP Parmar said it was not a case of stone-pelting.
"The window was damaged due to something hitting it as engineering work was going on the track at Ankleshwar in Bharuch where the incident took place. The damaged window was changed," he said.
Six jawans of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and three of the Government Railway Police (GRP) were present at all the four doors of the coach in which Owaisi was travelling, the official said.
"The train was running slow as engineering work was underway there. The window developed a crack as something hit it, although it was not a case of stone-pelting," he said.
"The engineering department said some grit flew and hit the window glass. The window was changed. A DySP-level officer is investigating the incident," Parmar added.

The city police on Tuesday said six persons have been apprehended in connection with the gangrape of a teenage girl here last month.
"Six accused have been arrested in this case... Out of six, one is a major," Hyderabad Police Commissioner C V Anand told reporters Tuesday night.
The rest are juveniles, including one just one month short of 18 years of age, he said.
Five of the arrested persons were involved in the rape of the teenage girl on May 28. One juvenile was allegedly seen in videos misbehaving with the girl, but was not involved in rape.
Anand said stringent sections of law have been invoked against those involved in the heinous crime.
The punishment under the sections could be imprisonment for life till death or even death penalty, he said. The case would be tried in a special court.
Amid allegations of involvement of children of influential persons, he said the gangrape happened in a Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV). It "seems to be" an official vehicle, he said.

The AIMIM chief also questioned the validity of the court order to seal the 'wuzu' pond where the alleged shivling was found. He said, "The court's order to seal the mosque area is in violation of the 1991 Act passed by Parliament. Read paragraph 83 of the Supreme Court's verdict in Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi title suit. SC said that the 1991 Act is part of the Constitution's basic structure."
In response, Keshav Prasad Maurya, deputy chief minister of UP, said, "When Congress was in power, it used to bring laws which exacerbate such issues. At that time, the Ram Janmabhoomi campaign was taking place. (The 1991 Act was implemented) to prevent similar campaigns elsewhere. A shivling has not emerged there because of a campaign. A court was hearing a case, and upon its orders, a survey was done. According to the survey report, Baba Vishwanath has been found there. We are all celebrating. Statements by the Muslim side, or other politicians who practice appeasement, should stop. The situation in UP is very good."
The official report of the court-mandated survey of the mosque was not known by May 16. The claim that a shivling has been found was made by one of the petitioners.

If we could change government... the Babri Masjid issue has been adjudicated by the courts, and now Gyanvapi Mosque issue has erupted. You are free to disagree with me," he added.

A day after attack on his convoy in Uttar Pradesh, the central government has given Z-category security to AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi.
Lok Sabha MP Asaduddin Owaisi's car was allegedly fired upon in Hapur while he was returning to Delhi after attending election-related events in western Uttar Pradesh.
The Uttar Pradesh Police have arrested two persons for allegedly firing shots at AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi's car on Thursday.
Police said that during interrogation, the men said that they targeted the Hyderabad MP as they were "hurt by Owaisi's anti-Hindu statements".
Owaisi's vehicle was near the Chhijarsi toll plaza on the Hapur-Ghaziabad stretch of the National Highway 24 when the incident took place at around 6 pm, he said.
No one was injured in the incident, Owaisi said while urging the Election Commission to ensure an independent probe into the incident.
Owaisi is extensively campaigning in Western UP which goes to polls in the first phase on February 10.

Besides AIMIM and SBSP, the Bhagidari Sankalp Morcha includes eight other parties, such as Krishna Patel's Apna Dal, Jan Adhikar Party and Chandrashekar Ravan's Azad Samaj Party.
In last year's Bihar Assembly elections, the AIMIM contested 20 seats and won five -- all in the Muslim-dominated Seemanchal region which shares border with West Bengal.
However, the party drew a blank in the recent assembly elections in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu.

The application will be in the prescribed form and will also include a loyalty contract.
The 'loyalty contract' says that the applicant will campaign for the party in the election, working honestly for the party even in the event of not getting the ticket.
The applicants will also have to pay an application fee of Rs 10,000 along with the form.
