He said the data of phase two and three trial of Bharat Biotech's Covaxin on two to 18 years age group is expected by September. He said the vaccine can be available for children in India around that time following approval from the drug regulator.
Dr Guleria told PTI&nbsp;that if the Pfizer vaccine gets approval before that, then it can also be an option for children.
According to a senior government official, pharmaceutical major Zydus Cadila is also likely to soon apply to the Drugs Controller General of India for emergency use authorisation for its Covid-19 vaccine ZyCoV-D, which it claims can be given to both adults and children.

As various variants&nbsp;of Covid-19 started emerging, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) director Dr Randeep Guleria has said that mixing doses of two different vaccines might increase its efficacy against Covid-19.&nbsp;&nbsp;
"Fighting more infectious variants like Delta Plus and Delta is possible through mixing two different Covid-19 vaccines. However, more data is required before a final approval is given to combine two vaccines," Dr Guleria told NDTV.
"This is something that has been looked at in the past - giving one vaccine as the priming shot and another as the booster. Some data suggests mixing vaccines leads to slightly higher side effects, but&nbsp;other data suggests it may lead to better immunity and antibody protection,"&nbsp;Dr Guleria said.
Last month, the Centre said that under its new vaccination policy, government scientists will study various combinations of Covid-19 vaccine doses to see if this could lead to more efficacy.
