The largest air show in Asia, Aero show 2023, kicked off this week in Bengaluru. This five-day event, with the theme of ‘A runway to a Billion opportunities’ will display India’s growth in aerospace and defence capabilities, while also attracting investment and forging partnerships with foreign companies. Nearly 809 companies from 98 countries across the world are taking part in the show which, along with the exhibition and trade fair, also featured exciting aerobatics.

The Hindustan Aeronautics Limited has removed the picture of Lord Hanuman from the tail of the HLFT-42 aircraft model displayed at the Aero India 2023 event in Bengaluru, ANI reported.
This comes a day after HAL showcased the full-scale model of its supersonic trainer aircraft HLFT-42.&nbsp;
The model aircraft, which was a major attraction at the show, featured a Hanuman picture on its tail.
The aeronautics body said that they had decided to use Hanuman's picture to display the power of the aircraft.
The HLFT-42 aircraft is the successor of HAL Marut, the first Indigenous aircraft.
Marut is the other name for Wind, or 'Pawan' as it is called in Hindi.
The son of Pawan was Lord Hanuman, which is why a picture of the lord was displayed on the model aircraft.

Aero India 2023: US Air Force's newest fifth-generation fighters to make debut at the show

In addition to the F-35, an F-16 Fighting Falcon duo will conduct daily aerial demonstrations from February 13-17, showcasing the capability of one of USAF's leading fighter jets.

The United States Air Force's (USAF) newest fifth-generation fighters &ndash; the stealthy, supersonic, multi-role F-35A Lightning II and F-35A Joint Strike Fighter &ndash; will make their debut at Aero India 2023.
After a journey from Hill Air Force Base in Utah, United States, the F-35A Lightning II Demonstration Team will impress crowds with a demo of its aerial capabilities, the US Consulate General Chennai said in a statement on Monday.
The F-35A Lightning II from Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska will be on static display, it said.
The F-35's engine produces 43,000 pounds of thrust and consists of a three-stage fan, a six-stage compressor, an annular combustor, a single-stage high-pressure turbine, and a two-stage low-pressure turbine, the statement said.? Major General Julian Cheater, Assistant Deputy Under Secretary of the Air Force, International Affairs, said: "The F-35 represents the leading edge of U S fighter technology. Aero India is an ideal forum to showcase the most advanced, capable, lethal, and inter-operable weapons systems the U.S. has to offer." This system and others are designed to penetrate and defeat advanced adversary air defences, the military officer added.

Light Combat Helicopter Prachand, the made-in-India airborne weapon, put on a spectacular display on the first day of the Aero India 2023 show.
LCH Prachand showed-off its agility in a dazzling aerobatic display in Bengaluru on 13 February 2023. The chopper was inducted into the Indian military in 2022. It is designed and made by Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd.
The Prachand is a twin-engine light helicopter armed with air-to-air missiles, 20 mm turret guns, rocket systems and other weapons. It is a versatile chopper capable of working in high-altitude areas, jungles, and populated areas.
Aero India is Asia's largest aerospace exhibition. Its 14th edition was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 13 February. More than 800 companies from 98 countries are taking part in the show.

Indian Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhuri participated in the flypast, leading the 'gurukul' formation for four aircraft.

The 14th edition of Aero India, Asia's largest aerospace exhibition, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Karnataka's Bengaluru on 13 February 2023.
The five-day event kicked-off with a dazzling air show. Indian Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhuri participated in the flypast, leading the 'gurukul' formation for four aircraft.
PM Modi also released commemorative stamps at the inaugural ceremony. The theme of Aero India 2023 is 'The Runway To A Billion Opportunities'.
Over 800 companies from 98 countries are taking part in the aerospace and defence show. More than 250 agreements with investments of ₹75,000 crore are expected to be signed during the event.

The IAF added that while consumption of non-vegetarian food can be allowed in the area, waste material like bones need to be disposed of in a strict manner.

The Indian Air Force has asked Bengaluru's civic body to ensure that all meat, chicken, and fish shops near the Yelahanka air base are closed till 20 February 2023.
The Air Force on 3 February issued a clarification regarding the request, saying that the measures are needed to ensure safety of aircraft during the Aero India show. The order has been issued for a 10 km radius around the Yelahanka Air Force Station.
The IAF added that while consumption of non-vegetarian food can be allowed in the area, waste material like bones need to be disposed of in a strict manner. This is to prevent excessive bird activity in the vicinity of the airfield.
