<p>Aditya L1 was successfully launched on September 2 from Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in Sriharikota.</p>

<p>ISRO on Sunday said it has performed a trajectory correction manoeuvre (TCM) on Aditya L1 spacecraft, the country's maiden solar mission.</p>
<p>The Indian space agency also said the spacecraft was healthy.</p>
<p>"The Spacecraft is healthy and on its way to Sun-Earth L1. A Trajectory Correction Maneuvre (TCM), originally provisioned, was performed on October 6, 2023, for about 16 s," ISRO said on 'X'.</p>
<p>It was needed to correct the trajectory evaluated after tracking the Trans-Lagrangean Point 1 Insertion (TL1I) maneuvre performed on September 19, 2023, it added.</p>
<p>Aditya-L1 is the first Indian space based observatory to study the Sun from a halo orbit around first sun-earth Lagrangian point (L1), which is located roughly 1.5 million km from earth.</p>
<p>According to ISRO, TCM ensures that the spacecraft is on its intended path towards the Halo orbit insertion around L1.</p>
<p>"As Aditya-L1 continues to move ahead, the magnetometer will be turned on again within a few days," the agency said.</p>

<p>ISRO on Thursday released a "selfie" and images of the Earth and the Moon taken by the camera on-board Aditya-L1 solar mission spacecraft.</p>
<p>"Aditya-L1, destined for the Sun-Earth L1 point, takes a selfie and images of the Earth and the Moon," the Bengaluru-headquartered national space agency said on 'X'.</p>
<p>The images show VELC (Visible Emission Line Coronagraph) and SUIT (Solar Ultraviolet Imager) instruments as seen by the camera on-board Aditya-L1 on September 2, 2023.</p>
<p>ISRO also shared the images of the Earth and Moon as seen by the camera.</p>

<p>According to ISRO, Aditya-L1 will be placed in a halo orbit around the Lagrange point 1 or L1 of the Sun-Earth system, which is about 1.5 million km from the Earth.</p>
<p>Placing the spacecraft in a halo orbit around the L1 point of the Earth-Sun system will mean that it will be able to continuously view the sun, without any disruption.</p>
<p>Equipped with seven payloads, Aditya L1 will study the Sun&rsquo;s corona, solar emissions, solar winds and flares, and will carry out round-the-clock imaging of the star.</p>

<p>Aditya-L1 is a fully indigenous effort with the participation of national institutions, an ISRO official said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>After the successful Chandrayaan-3 mission, ISRO on Monday announced the launch of Aditya-L1 spacecraft to study the Sun on September 2 at 11.50 a.m. from the Sriharikota spaceport.</p>
<p>Aditya-L1 spacecraft is designed for providing remote observations of the solar corona and in-situ observations of the solar wind at L1 (Sun-Earth Lagrangian point), which is about 1.5 million kilometres from the Earth.</p>
<p>It will be the first dedicated Indian space mission for observations of the Sun to be launched by the Bengaluru-headquartered space agency.</p>
<p>The space agency said in a social media post that the spacecraft -- the first space-based Indian observatory to study the Sun -- would be launched by PSLV-C57 rocket.</p>
<p>The Aditya-L1 mission, aimed at studying the Sun from an orbit around the L1, would carry seven payloads to observe the photosphere, chromosphere and the outermost layers of the Sun, the corona, in different wavebands.</p>
