Amid the ongoing agitation in Karnataka,&nbsp;Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa&nbsp;on Monday said that he had tried to speak to the leaders of various farmers' organisations but in vain. Stating that the amendments&nbsp;to the land and Agricultural laws have been have been brought after long discussions," the CM urged the farmers to wait for six months or a year. He said his government has not closed door on&nbsp;Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee Act and farmers can sell their produce where ever they want to. He claimed in six months or a year the farmers will realise how the amendments&nbsp;will help them.

Pakistan army violated ceasefire along the Line of Control in Jammu on more than 3,000 occasion in eight months this year, the government told Parliament this week. 3,186 ceasefire violations is the highest number in a year for 17 years - since the 2003 Ceasefire Agreement was brokered by then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. In addition, there were also 242 incidents of cross-border firing between January and August in the Jammu region, along the international border with Pakistan. The govt informed that 8 soldiers and a number of civilians were killed in Pakistani firing.
