VK Sasikala cannot contest election for two more years and since Jayalilathaa's death, the politics in her party and the state has vastly changed. She had tried to take over the party after Jaya's death and even made attempts to take over as CM until she was jailed.

New members appointed to RBI's Monetary Policy Committee 

The Finance Ministry on Monday named 3 new members of the rate-setting Monetary&nbsp;Policy Committee&nbsp;of the Reserve Bank of India. Economists Ashima&nbsp;Goyal, Jayanth&nbsp;R Varma, and Shashank&nbsp;Bhide&nbsp;who have been appointed for a 4-year term will replace the 3 previous external MPC&nbsp;candidates, whose terms expired in August. due to the delay in the appointment, RBI's&nbsp;bi-monthly committee meeting did not take place last week. The RBI&nbsp;is yet to announce the dates of the&nbsp;rescheduled meeting.&nbsp;
