Mental health in a bio-bubble for IPL stars

How tough it is for IPL-bound players to maintain&nbsp;their mental health&nbsp;in such unprecedented environment?

The Indian Premier League amid the Covid-19 pandemic seemed highly unlikely until UAE&nbsp;approached the BCCI&nbsp;to host the cash-rich league. Cricket was brought to a standstill but UAE&nbsp;government's assurance of a bio-secure bubble with precautions&nbsp;of the highest level, raised hope and the Indian government finally gave IPL&nbsp;a nod. As per the standard operating procedures, it was mandatory for all the players and staff members to undergo a 7-day quarantine which included Covid-19&nbsp;tests on every alternate day before training resumed for all the franchises.

No domestic cricket this season?

BCCI&nbsp;may have squeezed in the IPL&nbsp;but may have to do away with the domestic season this year.

BCCI&nbsp;may have managed to squeeze in the IPL, but the Indian board may not be able to host the domestic season this year. Since the Covid-19 situation is still out of hand, major domestic tournaments such as the Ranji&nbsp;Trophy,&nbsp;Vijay Hazare,&nbsp;Deodhar Trophy and the Syed&nbsp;Mushtaq&nbsp;Ali T20 tournament may have to be cancelled. A source close to development told the Times of India that while the Covid-19 situation is bad in some states, it's worse in other. There is&nbsp;no way anyone could&nbsp;plan something over a period of 3 to 4 months. The source added that even if required permissions were obtained,&nbsp;preparing a bio-secure bubble for 37 Ranji teams would be next to impossible. While there has been no formal decision as of now, discussions may be on to take that call.
