Amid a record spike in coronavirus cases in the Capital, gyms and yoga centres are set to reopen. In an order issued late on the Sunday night, the Delhi government allowed gyms and yoga centres capital to reopen after being closed for over five months due to the Covid-19 pandemic. All coronavirus protocols issued by the central government have to be strictly followed, including masks and social distancing apart from sanitizing hands. According to the order, weekly markets have also been allowed on a trial basis till September 30 under 'Unlock-4'.

New Delhi, PTI: Amid record spike in coronavirus cases in the Capital, gyms and yoga centres are set to open today. The Delhi government on Sunday allowed gyms and yoga centres capital to reopen after being closed for over five months due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In an order issued late on the Sunday night, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) said that gymnasiums and yoga institutes will be permitted to reopen in the city, except in the containment zones, with immediate effect.
According to the order, weekly markets have also been allowed on a trial basis till September 30 under 'Unlock-4'.
The AAP dispensation and the Lieutenant Government office have recently been at loggerheads over the reopening of gyms in the national capital. Last month, the Delhi government had sent a proposal to Lt Governor Anil Baijal in this regard, but it was turned down.
The decision about reopening gyms and yoga centres comes at a time the city has been witnessing a surge in the number of coronavirus cases.
On Sunday, the tally of coronavirus cases in Delhi rose to 2.18 lakh with 4,235 more people contracting the viral disease, while 29 fresh fatalities in the last 24 hours pushed the death toll to 4,744.
This was the fifth day in a trot that the national capital recorded a daily spike of over 4,000 fresh cases. The city recorded its biggest single-day jump of 4,321 fresh Covid-19 cases on Saturday, 4,266 on Friday, 4,308 on Thursday and 4,039 on Wednesday.

Despite putting forward a brilliant show each year, MI failed to get their hands on the silverware in the first 5 editions.&nbsp;Their fortunes turned around when Rohit&nbsp;Sharma&nbsp;took over as the skipper. They were crowned the champions in his very first season in charge and once Mumbai&nbsp;got the taste of success, they were hungry for more.&nbsp;
MI won the IPL&nbsp;every alternate year after that and are the defending champions. Apart from their captain, all-rounders&nbsp;form their core group. Pandya&nbsp;brothers and Kieron&nbsp;Pollard have single-handedly&nbsp;decimated oppositions on several occasions. India's premier fast bowler Jasprit&nbsp;Bumrah&nbsp;will once again spearhead the pace attack and&nbsp;Mumbai&nbsp;has further strengthened it by roping in Trent Boult&nbsp;and&nbsp;Nathan Coulter-Nile. Though they will miss the services of IPL's&nbsp;highest wicket-taker Lasith&nbsp;Malinga who has opted out of this edition.
But the 4-time champions look a little weak when it comes to their&nbsp;spinners. Given the turning tracks in UAE, just&nbsp;Jayant Yadav and&nbsp;Rahul Chahar as front-line&nbsp;spinners may be an issue. Though&nbsp;Anukul Roy and Krunal Pandya&nbsp;are good 6th bowling options to have but the team can't completely depend on them.&nbsp;
Never the less, Mumbai&nbsp;have proved their critics wrong many times and they look too good of a side to not go a long way in IPL 2020.

Literacy rate: Kerala on top, Delhi 2nd, Andhra worst

Kerala has retained its top spot in the literacy rate ranking in India. The southern state has a 96.2% literacy rate and is followed by Delhi at 89%, the data from a report on education released by the National Statistical Office revealed. While southern states are commonly assumed to be better in literacy, Andhra Pradesh has turned out to be an outlier. The state ranks lowest in all states with just 66.4% literacy. This is much lower than the national average of 77.7%. Not only that, it also fares badly in comparison to poor and backwards states such as Bihar and UP. Meanwhile, Uttarakhand and Assam are on No. 3 and 4 with 87.6% and 85.9% respectively.
