Young adults prefer marijuana high, abstain from alcohol: survey

An American survey has found that alcohol consumption is falling out of favour amongst young adults aged 18-22 in the country. Conducted twice, first in 2002 and in 2018, the survey discovered that teetotalism or the practice of abstaining from alcohol rose from 20% in 2002 to 28% in 2018.&nbsp;
However, the researchers report that cannabis use has replaced youngsters' thirst for hard drinks. More people are opting for marijuana and co-using marijuana and alcohol, the survey published in JAMA Paediatrics founds. Researchers noted that despite this their findings suggest a positive trend as misuse is reported less but urged to keep a watch on co-using habits.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Omar Abdullah to voluntarily vacate govt house in Srinagar

Former J&amp;K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah&nbsp;will be voluntarily&nbsp;vacating government accommodation&nbsp;in Srinagar by the end of October. Tweeting his letter to the J&amp;K administration written in July, Abdullah&nbsp;wrote that he is choosing to vacate the house of his own accord contrary to reports that he has given a notice to do so.&nbsp;
Abdullah&nbsp;said that&nbsp;after&nbsp;the changes made to the entitlements for former chief ministers of J&amp;K he finds himself in&nbsp;unauthorised occupation of the house and that is unacceptable&nbsp;to him.&nbsp;
In his letter the National Conference wrote that the Gupkar&nbsp;Road house in Srinagar&nbsp;was allotted to him in&nbsp;2002 when he was an MP from Srinagar. After his election as the chief minister of J&amp;K the complex and the adjoining house were used as his&nbsp;official residence till 2015 when he demitted office. Abdullah&nbsp;goes on to write that he had retained the residence in Srinagar&nbsp;after that as per the rules.&nbsp;
