Rising sea levels posing risk to millions in coastal regions

Satellite data from the&nbsp;European Space Agency (ESA) shows that the Mean Sea Level has been rising by&nbsp;3mm every year since 1993, owing to global warming.&nbsp;
Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) Secretary Madhavan Rajeevan&nbsp;recently stated that this could pose a major risk to millions of people living along coastal regions.&nbsp;
Global warming is responsible for erratic weather patterns, melting glaciers and ice sheets which in turn is increasing sea levels globally.&nbsp;
Sea level rise could easily be the biggest climate threat we face, given the large population that inhabits the coastal areas.&nbsp;

Massing of troops on LAC a concern: India tells China

External affairs minister S Jaishankar conveyed India's concerns over provocative behaviour of Chinese soldiers on the LAC

During his two-hours-long meeting with Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi in Moscow, external affairs minister S Jaishankar conveyed India's concerns over provocative behaviour of Chinese soldiers on the LAC. News agency reported, quoting govt sources, that the Indian side highlighted its concerns over the massing of Chinese troops with equipment along the LAC. The Indian side pointed out that the presence of large number of troops was not in accordance with the 1993 and 1996 agreements. It was pointed out that Chinese amassing of troops has created flashpoints along the LAC and China has not provided any credible explanation for this deployment.
