A 16-year-old boy was detained on Sunday from Mundra in Gujarat for allegedly issuing threats against cricketer MS&nbsp;Dhoni's minor daughter, police said.&nbsp;The class 12 student has&nbsp;"confessed" to have posted the threatening message on the Instagram account of Dhoni's wife Sakshi&nbsp;after the IPL 2020 match between KKR and CSK cricket teams, police added. Rape threats to the 5-year-old&nbsp;had caused a huge outrage on social media.

Ahmedabad, PTI: A 16-year-old boy was detained on Sunday from Mundra in Gujarat for allegedly issuing threats against cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni's minor daughter, police said.
"The class 12 student from Namna Kapaya village was detained for questioning in connection with a disgusting threat message that was posted on the Instagram account of Mr Dhoni's wife Sakshi Dhoni a few days back," Kutch (West) superintendent of police Saurabh Singh told reporters.
The teenager "confessed" to have posted the threatening message on the Instagram account after the IPL 2020 match between KKR and CSK cricket teams, police said.
Ranchi police had shared information regarding the boy with Kutch (West) police and asked them to confirm if he was the one who had posted the threat message, police said.
"We detained him for questioning after Ranchi police informed us that the accused hails from Mundra in Kutch district."
"We have confirmed that the boy is the same who had posted the message. He will be handed over to Ranchi police as the FIR was lodged in that city," police said, adding that a team of Ranchi Police is likely to reach Kutch tomorrow to take custody of the teenager.
Dhoni is captaining the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) cricket team in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 season.
The nature of the threat had caused a huge outrage on social media, with several cricketers, politicians and celebrities expressing disgust and demanding action.

Relatives urge China to return 12 detainees to HK

At an emotional news conference, the group said their relatives should be allowed to meet with lawyers they themselves have hired, not those appointed by Chinese authorities, They also said they should be provided with needed medications, be allowed to call their families and eventually be allowed to return to Hong Kong.
The relatives wore masks, hoods, sunglasses, jackets and hats to hide their identities in front of the television cameras.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Friday that the US was &ldquo;deeply concerned&rdquo; that the 12 had been denied access to the lawyers of their choice, along with the lack of information about their welfare and the charges against them.
&ldquo;We question Chief Executive Lam's stated commitment to protecting the rights of Hong Kong residents, and call on authorities to ensure due process," Pompeo said, referring to Carrie Lam, Hong Kong's leader.
Lam said Tuesday that the 12 must be &ldquo;dealt with according to mainland laws&rdquo; if arrested for breaking Chinese law.
The detention of the 12, who include a 16-year-old boy, follows China's imposition of a sweeping new national security law on the former British colony, which was wracked by months of anti-government protests last year.
Critics say the law amounts to a major crackdown on free speech and political activity by the opposition and further erodes the civil liberties promised to Hong Kong under the &ldquo;one country, two systems&rdquo; principle in place since it reverted to Chinese rule in 1997.

Thousands were arrested during the protest movement and others continue to be sought by Hong Kong and mainland authorities. The new security law bans secessionist, subversive and terrorist activities, as well as collusion with foreign forces, with penalties of up to life imprisonment.
