Wives of Air India pilots who lost their lives after contracting Covid-19 in line of duty have formed a joint forum to seek adequate compensation and alternative employment for themselves.

The “Widows Forum for Justice” has written to the national carrier’s chairman and managing director Rajeev Bansal, expressing anguish over the ₹10 lakh compensation to them. The amount, they say, in normal circumstances "would have been less than their two months' earnings"

According to reports, the national carrier has lost five of its pilots  between 9th May and 30th May.
