Hardik Pandya to lead Team India in Ireland

All-rounder Hardik Pandya, who led the Gujarat Titans to the IPL title this year and was appointed the Indian vice-captain ahead of the South Africa series, has been appointed captain for the two T20Is against Ireland later this month.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who has had a resurgence in the shortest format, has been named his deputy for the 2-match series.

Batter Suryakumar Yadav, who has been missing from the South Africa series due to injury, is fit enough to travel to Ireland. The squad also includes Sanju Samson, who took the Rajasthan Royals to the finals of the IPL this year.

The uncapped Rahul Tripathi is also part of the 17-member squad after another good outing in the IPL. Uncapped pacers Umran Malik & Arshdeep Singh, who are yet to play a game against the Proteas, also keep their place in the squad.
