President Kovind and PM Modi paid their last respects to Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan's mortal remains at his residence on Friday. They were joined by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and BJP National President JP Nadda. Opposition leaders Rahul Gandhi and Sharad Pawar also paid tribute to the LJP chief.
The flags at Rashtrapati Bhavan and Parliament flew at half-mast for the late LJP patron who passed away at the age of 74 at a Delhi hospital on Thursday, recovering after a heart surgery.
Paswan will be accorded a state funeral, home ministry officials said. The cremation will take place on Saturday in Patna.
