Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan made his first public appearance on Monday since being stabbed during a robbery attempt at his Mumbai residence last month.
The 54-year-old star attended the slate announcement event of streaming service Netflix, where he shared that it felt “nice to be standing” in front of an audience.
On January 16, Saif was attacked by an intruder during the early hours of the morning at his 12th-floor home in Bandra. The actor underwent surgery and was discharged four days later, following the traumatic incident.
At the Netflix event, Saif's upcoming film Jewel Thief – The Heist Begins was announced. The heist drama, directed by Robbie Grewal and Kookie Gulati, stars Saif alongside Jaideep Ahlawat.
The film is produced by Siddharth Anand, known for his work on Pathaan, and his wife Mamta Anand, under their production banner Marflix Pictures.
Saif expressed his excitement about the project, saying, “It feels very nice to be standing here in front of you. And it feels very nice to be here. I’m very excited about this movie.”
The actor added that he and Siddharth had been discussing the film for a long time.
“I’ve always wanted to do a heist film, and a film like this, I couldn’t have asked for a better co-star. And basically, a lovely movie, and I’m very excited,” Saif said, wearing denim and with a bandage on his neck.
