Actor Jacqueline Fernandez has been in the news after being named as an accused in conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar’s Rs. 200 cr extortion case by the Enforcement Directorate. Now, there seems to finally be some relief for her. According to reports in India Today, Delhi court has granted an interim bail the actor who has been questioned multiple times in the case. Delhi’s Patiala court granted interim bail to her for a bond of ₹50,000. The next hearing in the case will reportedly be held on October 22.

Last week, Jacqueline’s stylist Leepakshi Ellawadi was also questioned by the Delhi Police’s Economic Offences Wing, where she admitted that she was given Rs. 3 crores by Sukesh to purchase gifts for actor. As per a PTI report, Ellawadi confirmed Jacqueline Fernandez and Sukesh’s relationship and revealed that he contacted her in an attempt to understand the actor’s likes and dislikes.

Sukesh Chandrashekhar, who is currently lodged in Tihar jail, has over 10 criminal cases filed against him.

Last month, Enforcement Directorate had filed a supplementary charge sheet before the Prevention of Money Laundering Act court naming Jacquline as an accused and claimed she knowingly benefited from the proceeds of Sukesh’s crime.

Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has also questioned actor Nora Fatehi in connection with the case, but she has not been named as an accused by ED. During the probe, Nora claimed she was unaware of Sukesh's criminal background and had no connection with the industry colleague and accused in the case.
