Bollywood’s top action stars Jackie Shroff, Mithun Chakraborty, Sanjay Dutt and Sunny Deol are teaming up for the forthcoming action entertainer ‘Baap.’ Jackie Shroff shared the news of project’s commencement on social media by dropping a picture of him on sets along with Mithun and Sanjay. However, Sunny Deol was not part of the shoot on day one.
The stars made the official announcement of the project on Mithun’s 72nd birthday on June 16.
‘Baap’ will be directed by Vivek Chauhan. As per Pinkvilla report, the team is expected to wrap up filming within a month. Sources told the publication that the project will be shot at multiple locations and a portion of it will be filmed at a Mumbai studio.
Sources further added that it is an attempt by producer Ahmed Khan to bring the action stars together in one film to create a desi version of 'The Expendables,' an American action thriller franchise, as the four men are known to have an action image among the masses.
On the work front, Mithun Chakraborty last featured in Vivek Agnihotri’s ‘The Kashmir Files.’ A Bengali film, titled ‘Projapoti,’ is one of his upcoming projects.
Jackie Shroff was last seen in Akshay Kumar’s ‘Sooryavanshi.’
Sanjay Dutt is currently basking in the success of ‘KGF: Chapter 2.’ Some of his forthcoming projects include Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Shamshera’ and ‘Khalnayak 2.’
Sunny Deol too has several projects in his kitty such as ‘Gadar 2,’ ‘Soorya,’ and ‘Apne 2,’ with Dharmendra, Bobby Deol and son Karan Deol.
