Tollywood drug case: 'Baahubali' actor Rana Daggubati appears before ED

Actor Rana Daggubati appeared before the Enforcement Directorate on Wednesday in connection with the high-profile drugs racket busted in Hyderabad in 2017. According to reports, ED has asked Baahubali actor to explain his financial transactions. 

ED earlier quizzed several noted actors and filmmakers such as Puri Jagannadh, actor Charmee Kaur and Rakul Preet Singh in the case. 

Since August 31, Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned twelve Tollywood celebrities in connection with 4-year-old drug trafficking and consumption case registered by Telengana Excise and Prohibition Department.

The officials further confirmed that till they get evidence Tollywood celebrities will be considered as witnesses and not accused. 

In 2017, the Telangana Excise and Prohibition Department had registered 12 cases in after seizing drugs worth ₹30 lakh.
