Since the launch of 5G on October 1, there has been a lot of speculation around the new network service. Many people have also wondered if 5G plans will be considerably more expensive than their current 4G ones.
Well, it turns out that Airtel and Jio have hinted at their planned 5G prices.
Airtel customers with 5G phones will be able to experience its 5G services on their existing 4G data plans. This offer is accessible to Airtel customers in 8 cities where 5G is currently being rolled out.
Reliance Jio, on the other hand, has an invite-only Jio Welcome Offer for using 5G services with up to 1 Gbps speed. According to reports, customers must have at least the ₹239 4G plan to get the Welcome Offer. Jio 5G is also available in select cities.
Vi hasn't said anything yet because its 5G services are yet to launch.
This gives us a pretty good idea of how much 5G will cost in India. Since Airtel and Jio are giving their users a free 5G upgrade at first, we can safely assume that 5G plans won't be much more expensive than 4G plans when they come out.
