Hockey World Cup 2023: Hardik Singh ruled out due to hamstring injury

Indian hockey team suffered a major setback ahead of its crucial crossover match against New Zealand in the ongoing World Cup with midfielder Hardik Singh ruled out of the tournament with a hamstring injury.  

The 24-year-old who did not play against Wales failed to recover from the injury that he sustained during India's second pool match against England on January 15.

His absence will be a big setback for India as they have been struggling in the attacking department. Graham Reid, India's head coach informed that Raj Kumar Pal will replace Hardik for the remainder of the tournament.
