Djokovic thanks his supporters as he remains held up for 3rd day in Australian migrant detention centre

World no. 1 Novak Djokovic remained holed up in the Melbourne immigration detention centre for the third day in a row on Saturday as the Serbian was dramatically refused entry to Australia over his Covid-19 vaccine status.

Meanwhile, the 20-time grand slam champion Djokovic broke his silence amid the ongoing row and thanked his fans around the world for their support.

The Serbian tennis star took to Instagram and wrote, " Thank you to people around the world for your continuous support. I can feel it and it is greatly appreciated."

Notably, Djokovic was detained on Thursday after arriving in Australia to participate in the Australian Open, starting January 16, to win the record 21st grand slam title.

Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Roger Federer are tied on 20 grand slam titles.
