Top Indian wrestlers including Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat protested against the functioning of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) and sat at Jantar Mantar on January 18.

Olympic bronze medallist Bajrang slammed the federation by Tweeting that the players were being harassed by the imposition of arbitrary laws.

'The job of the federation is to support the players, and take care of their sporting needs. If there is a problem, it has to be solved. But what if the federation itself creates the problem? Now we have to fight, we will not back down,' he added.

The Wrestling Federation of India took note of the protest and its officials left for Jantar Mantar to meet the wrestlers.
