India have become the new No. 1 Test side after overtaking Australia in the latest ICC annual rankings update.

Rohit Sharma's men ended Australia's reign after 15 months at the top of the ICC rankings. The two sides will face each other in the World Test Championship final next month, and India had recently beaten the Aussies 2-1 in Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Before the annual rankings update, Australia were top with 122 points while India trailed them by 3 points. But now, with series completed since May 2020 only taken into account, India have 121 point and they have leapfrogged the Kangaroos, who are at 116.

Team India now occupy the top spot in both Tests & T20Is, while they are ranked 3rd in ODIs.
