Team India continued their brilliant start to the 1st Test as they declared their innings after scoring 258/2, having taken an overall lead of 512 runs. The Bangla Tigers ended day three at 42/0, needing 471 more runs to win.

A brilliant batting display by Chesteshwar Pujara and Shubman Gill saw both batters get a hundred each to their name. Cheteshwar Pujara (102*) ended a 3-year wait for his 19th Test century off 130 balls, which also became the 34-year-old's fastest ton so far. On the other end, Shubman Gill recorded his maiden Test century before he was dismissed from 110.

Earlier, Kuldeep Yadav had helped the team take a massive 254-run lead with his impressive figures of 5 for 40 as India bowled Bangladesh out for just 150. Mohammed Siraj also starred with the ball, snaffling three for 20.

The visitors will be hoping to wrap things up on Saturday to get an extra day's rest, with the second Test starting on December 22.
