Women's T20 World Cup 2023: India to face Pakistan in campaign opener

The Indian women's team will begin their T20 World Cup 2023 campaign on February 12th in Cape Town against arch-rivals Pakistan, according to the schedule announced by ICC on Monday.

For the marquee event that begins on February 10th, the Women in Blue have been placed in Group 2, alongside England, West Indies, Pakistan and Ireland.

Group 1 consists of 5-time winners and defending champions Australia, along with New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

After Pakistan, the team will face West Indies on 15th February, followed by the games against England and Ireland on Feb 18th and 20th respectively.

While hosts South Africa will face Sri Lanka in the inaugural game, the final of the 10-team tournament will be held on Feb 26th in Cape Town. The matches will take place across 3 venues in Cape Town, Paarl and Gqeberha.
