BCCI secretary Jay Shah stated ahead of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Mumbai on Tuesday that Team India won't travel to Pakistan for Asia Cup 2023.

The 2023 Asia Cup is scheduled to be hosted by Pakistan and earlier reports had suggested that the BCCI was open to sending Team India to participate in the tournament. However, Jay Shah, who is also the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) president, clarified that wasn't the case and the 2023 Asia Cup may be played at a neutral venue and not Pakistan.

India had last toured Pakistan for a bilateral series in 2005, while the arch-rivals last locked horns in a bilateral series in 2012. Since then India and Pakistan only face each other in ICC and ACC events.
