IND VS SA: South Africa cricketers clear Covid-19 Test ahead of T20 series

The Temba Bvuma-led South African team began their practice at Feroz Shah Kotala stadium after clearing the mandatory Covid-19 test, a Proteas support staff told PTI. 

All squad members had tested negative, the support staff said adding that the players who played in the recently concluded Indian Premier League would get a break of a few days before the series begins as a part of the workload management. The Proteas attended their optional training session on Friday at Feroz Shah Kotala which will host the first match of the 5 match T20 series that is set to begin on the 9th of June. 

While a few IPL stars from the SA team including David Miller have taken a break, others like Quinton de Kock, Marco Jansen have joined the squad.

Meanwhile, the Indian team will gather in Delhi on June 5. Since captain Rohit Sharma has been rested for the series, KL Rahul will lead the team in the bilateral home series.
