Ravi Shastri, who is largely credited for Team India's dominance in overseas games feels that he got the coaching job by mistake.
'I was in the commentary box and I was asked to go there and I did my bit,' added Shastri. The former India head coach though has backed Rahul Dravid to be the best person to replace him. Shastri said that Rahul is a guy who has come through the system and done the hard yards. He's been coach of the U-19 team and then he has taken over the Indian team. 'He will enjoy it, once the team starts responding to what he says,' feels the 60-year-old.
Ravi Shastri and Virat Kohli's partnership helped India become the best touring sides in the world. Under them, Team India became the first Asian team to beat Australia in their own backyard twice and also enjoyed great success in England.
